Got these for my daughters west facing window. Her room gets very heated up on a summer afternoon and stays well lit late into the day on a summer day. These are very nice and a major improvement over her other darkening/cooling curtains. To be honest we are just entering our 1st summer with them, but they put the old pair to shame over black out ability. And the material is of such a nice quality and are lined in black that I am fully confident they will minimize the effects of a hot sun. Love them. Love the grommets, love the fit on her window. Plenty of material/width for her window. She has a standard wide window and these are not those slim panels they now sell..the ones that barely block a window when fully closed. Color is true to the picture. Great weight to the fabric. Very pleased.

High quality heavy but flexible curtains. I have them mounted on metal closet poles ( because of weight) in west facing Southern California bedroom. There are 3 6ft wide by 44 inch high windows in this room, all with these curtains.When drawn on the sunniest day, my bedroom becomes very dimly lit where I can still see, but wouldn't be able to read a book.It's April where no matter how sunny the day was, the nights are still on the cold side. My bed is against a wall with a window. These curtains noticeably reduce cold drafts. I'm hoping they do the same and regulate heat in summer scorchers.I have great hearing. When I turned on the tv, the volume was noticeably affected by the curtains, even in the open position.I bought these because I had some existing black outs with the white pvc backside that were starting to bleed light through. I thought I would rekindle my liking of them by freshening them up in a light wash cycle.The pvc started to further fail. They were able to be washed a year ago, not anymore. They were ruined.These new curtains are machine washable and that's what I did to get the shipping wrinkles out of them.No problems at all. I was afraid the black backside fabric would release dye and stain the tan. NOPE.And when they come out of the wash, they make the bedroom smell like fresh laundry for a few days.For me, these are a hit. Quality and value.

They do a superb job of blocking the light. I've had mixed luck with "blackout" curtains before, but since these ones do it right while also looking quite nice, I went ahead and bought another set.I'm not sure about their insulation properties. I'm sure they're better in that regard than a standard set of curtains, but I can't say how much better.They do seem to keep the room cooler, but I think that's mostly because pretty much NO sunlight gets through to contribute to heating the room up.Be sure you've got a sturdy curtain rod to hang them from, and the rod has fairly strong brackets, because they're considerably heavier than regular curtains.If they came with matching tieback straps/cords, I'd want to give them an extra star. I'm not going to dock them a star for not including one, but it would've been an extra nice touch.They ARE a little more expensive than some of the others I've gotten before, but I guess it's one of those "get what you pay for" things. Those cheaper ones just didn't do the job anywhere near as well as these do.

I absolutely love these!!! They block out ALL the light and they really do help buffer some of the outside noise. I live in the desert and my window faces the east with all the hot sun coming in. I bought the curtains to help block the heat which they do nicely. There is a busy street behind me and I noticed a difference with the sound being buffered. Makes for a great night of sleep. Would I buy these again? Absolutely. They have great customer service as well. The first color I purchased didn’t match right. Without hesitation, they accepted my return. Delivery was super fast as well. Like the way Amazon used to be. Extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Great for those who work night shift. My husband works nights and is able to sleep well with how dark these make the room. Easy to clean and really doesn't collect dust which makes allergies easier. Color is as picutred and material does not wrinkle. Would definitely buy again.

I assumed they came with something to hold them up at this price, but they seem to work well. Not sure if this pricepoint is fair, but maybe it is. Ill try cheaper options and return to buy more if these are objectively better.

I love these curtains, number 1 & 2 are around the same time, days apart & taken from my pet cameras night vision, #3 is from my own camera, taken right after #2 was taken, all taken with livingroom lights off, the fabric is great, not too heavy & they look great, I will be purchasing more for my bedroom

I ordered these as a doorway blocker to my home office - I wanted the blocking effect, but my dogs need to be able to come in and out. So, THESE ARE AWESOME! The added bonus to the beautiful soft fabric is the SOUND blocking! They truly do block a lot of sound from the other rooms! And I did try them in front of my window and they block out all the light, in case someone wonders.Great buy!
