Q: What are the best type of strings to use, and wher can i take the bass to have it set-up?

I like size 100-40 Earnie Ball strings. I think most people use either 100 or 105 for standard tuning. Anything bigger might be hard for a new player. And you can take it to pretty much any music store for a set up for around $30 or so. You can also watch YouTube videos and learn to do basic things like adjusting the truss rod and string height saddles yourself with the wrenches that came with the bass.

Q: Does it come with a cord to plug it into an amp?

Yes it does is a pretty good base with a cord is for my grandson he loves it

Q: Can you customize this bass with fender pickups?

Yes but this isn't a bass worth putting money into. If you are planning to buy replacement parts, I reccomend putting that money towards a nicer bass in the first place.
