What is the difference in cataplex e and cataplex e2?

I bought this to help with altitude sickness (google it) and it worked!! I also found te following general information, hope it helps! Vitamin E in its "raw" state (D-alpha tocopherol) is in oil form. If it is put into tablets or hard gelatin capsules it must be esterified. That means that a natural carrier must be added, such as acetate or succinate. These esterified forms are written as D-alpha tocopheryl acetate or D-alpha tocopheryl succinate. Since the carrier breaks down when ingested, esterified vitamin E is still considered natural as long as the D is present versus the DL. Look for the Natural Source Vitamin E Association (NSVEA) logo on the label if you want this type of a natural vitamin E.According to Dr. Bruce West of Health Alert, "all store-bought vitamin E is simply the small antioxidant portion of the whole nutritional complex" so one must not try to solve a vitamin E deficiency with "tocopherols of any type." He uses a real, whole vitamin E complex called "Cataplex E2" from Standard Process Labs. He says, "Cataplex E2 is the live essence of vitamin E -- rich plants and proteins like pea plants, beet roots, liver, adrenal, and more. These include the naturally occurring nutritional counterparts -- trace mineral activators, enzymes, etc.-- all preserved in a patented process designed to retain the live integrity of the plant and animal nutrition. In contrast, tocopherols are synthetically produced from tar or industrially stripped away from corn oil."According to new research, avocados are the richest fruit source of vitamin E, followed by the kiwi, nectarines, grapes, and then peaches. Avocados are also the best fruit source of lutein, the compound that protects against cataract formation and macular degeneration.

Will be backpacking at 10,000 ft+ elevation, coming from 800ft elevation. When should I start taking and how often during 6-day trip?

I spent a week in Leadville, Colorado (10K+) and no headaches and nausea which was wonderful. I took one/day four days before the trip and throughout. I did hike a 14er and felt tired. Some of it I'm sure was due to the altitude.

What's the difference between E2 and E?

Both products provide ingredients with antioxidant activity and are a good source of antioxidant selenium. Cataplex E supports cells and cell processes as well as healthy thyroid function. Cataplex E2 supports cellular health and general well-being. The ingredient amounts are different in the two products. Combat Altitude & boost of energy

Could not live without this to adjust to altitude. Moving from sea level to 6000 ft above sea level really took a toll on my energy, but taking this daily has been the perfect addition to my vitamin list. High quality and on subscription, so I never run out

Life saver

So I do get this from my accupuncture doc cheaper by about 5 $ but in a pinch I will buy them here ...I have CLL and sever anemia but Iron isn't the answer for me E2 was because this oxygenated my blood and made my red blood cell count and hemoglobin go up per my recent blood work ...they wanted to give me a blood transfusion and IV iron at 800 mg divided into ten ivs ...that would have killed me as the body has a hard time getting rid of iron that is corrosive to the body ....I had Ferritin stores so I had iron but CLL causes abnormal red blood cells that can't carry oxygen ....E2 made all the difference

It works just as good as Nitro & doesn't have any side effects

I use this for angina. It works just as good as Nitro & doesn't have any side effects. Nitro gives you a pounding headache. This doesn't.

Really does help with altitude sickness

Apparently no one really knows why (at least no one I have read in my quest for the reason this works) but this really does help with altitude sickness better than anything I've ever used. My family is in Colorado and I no longer live there, so visits were hard - headaches were pretty bad. This was recommended in an article I read, so I tried it. I start taking SP Cataplex E2 the week before I go and I take them as needed while there and it really helps. This is NOT medical advice, it's just what me sharing what works for me.
