Matisse Line Drawings and Prints: 50 Works

I bought this for less than $7 with shipping, the price is crazy right now ($30-40 range, too much.) I think it's worth what I paid, these are essentially line drawings based on Matisse paintings (as well as some that were originally line drawings.) It would be better if the pages were one sided and if the print quality were a little better; but the print quality is okay. Not framable plates obviously, but for drawing lessons; not bad.

Probably unfair, but I only gave it a 4 instead of 5 because it didn't have my favorite "Sleeping Woman" which I really hoped for.I love Matisse line drawings, perhaps more than his paintings, as I do David Hockney's drawings over most of his paintings. This is a very nice little book, and I expect to view it often.

Nice little collection of line drawings. The reproductions are somewhat faint, although I suspect the original drawing were faint...lots of nakedness, in that Matisse style..

Henri Matisse's line drawings and prints have a unified flow. His drawings and prints are lyrical in their lines. I would recommend this book to any aficionado of Matisse.

I love the simplicity of Matisse's drawings. It's amazing how this master can portray the female nude with so few lines. Less is more!

I loved the content of this book. It was just what I was looking for and had not found any where else.
