Good opportunity for compare and contrast
Great movies together. The older version is more true to the book, but the new version has more slapstick comedy that makes kids laugh. When I was teaching 3rd grade we read the book and watched both movies. We also went to a live play. We compared all the different versions and discussed why we think the new movie left some things out (and added others). It is funny how insightful kids can be. They understood that movie-makers wanted to make people laugh by adding things that weren't in the book (example: the crows and their dialogue).

A Classic and a Reboot
I purchased this as mainly as a teacher to share with my students after reading the book in class, but I will always treasure the animated 1974 version as one of my favorites from growing up. The newer live-action one is cute, too, though maybe a bit too modern, and the kids always enjoy it. This is a good set to own in order to read the book and show both films and have kids compare and contrast the three. Highly recommended, especially for the low price!

Can't go wrong with this DVD 2 pack! We love our Charlotte!
Great DVD, my kids love both movies. The cartoon has a special place in my heart, however. The music makes me cry every gosh-darned time! I can't help it! It's so beautiful. The new movie is very sweet and well-done, but it doesn't hold a candle to the 1973 version. I love the 2 pack because its SUCH a great story, you really can't go wrong!

great price for both movies, but package was damaged!
I think the price for both movies is awesome !!But only gave 4 stars because upon delivery, the package was damaged. It even caused 2 areas on the case of the DVD to be punctured and torn. Luckily, the DVDs themselves were ok.

The 2006 version sure took a lot of liberties from the book...
Only about 20 minutes into the 2006 version and not impressed. So very different from the book in so many ways already. It takes a nice classic and cheapens it with present day bodily function "humor" or two kinds less than a minute apart. And Julia Roberts as the voice of Charlotte? No thank you.Dakota Fanning is perfect as fern, however. If I took out a notebook to make a list of everything that strays from the book in this 2006 film, I'd be about 5 pages in already.I haven't watched the 1973 cartoon disc yet, so I can't fairly review that yet, but I'm not happy with the 2006 version. It is great that this set came with both films though. My kindergartener and I finished the book a few weeks ago, so I wanted to get her the movie to watch.

Great story, especially the original movie
love both movies, but the original one is the one that captures my kids' attention the most. They love the songs! We watched it after I read the story out loud to my 5-year-old.:) The updated version isn't as true to the novel, and I've read the book several times and know that they've added more things here and there.

Great deal!
So glad these movies were sold together like this! I teach first grade, and we do a Charlotte's Web unit at the end of the year. It was great to have both movies since the original really follows the book well!

This was a great DVD as it has the classic
This was a great DVD as it has the classic, beautiful 1973 version on it as well as the newer 2006 one. We were actually only looking for the 1973 version, as we only had it on VHS, but it was nice to get the newer one with it. The 1973 version is a must-see for all children! It has been a favourite of all 4 of my children, and I loved it as a child, too.

Never disappointed
This is a great movie for kids and all the adults love it too. Music and the colorful scenes are fabulous. Teaches kids in an easy way about life and death. I love it and so did the kids. thanks
