The Mysterious Mansion: A mind-bending activity book stranger than a fairytale

Compelling and enchanting activity book. Love this and highly recommend.

If you've ever seen any of Daria Song's other books, you know she does amazing art work. This book is a little different from her others as it's not a straight up coloring book. This book has several pages that are already colored in but does have several for you to color in along with several puzzles throughout. I know some people don't like it because it is not just a coloring book but that makes it even more special to me. The pictures in this book are just amazing. I'm looking forward to using several different medium in this book. The size of this book is a little larger than her other coloring books. If you want to see pages inside the book, check out a flip through on YouTube. I did that before I preordered it and it was just as beautiful in person as on the videos I saw.

I read the other reviews. Yes it is different than her other coloring books. Still good. You can still do some coloring in it if you want. I will scan and print on heavy paper the game pieces and paper doll pages. Rather than cut out the pages in the book. I plan to give it to my niece with the reprinted pages.

My girls love this book. It is something they can do together and are enjoying it so much. They are both into drawing and are very inspired by this book as well.

I own Daria Song's other coloring books so when this one popped up in one of my Amazon windows I went ahead and pre-ordered it. At that time there was not a good description of the book. It arrived this week and while it's OK, I was expecting more of a coloring book like her other titles. Now that the Look Inside feature is available, I suggest you look at that before ordering. If you like different kinds of puzzles along with your coloring pages, this might be a good book for you. It is not really a good fit for me. I am going to give it to my niece.

This is a cross between the Overseas Color Books that have more pages and coloured pages, than the American books. It is wonderful. Is it a plain black and white colour book? no. Is it more than that? oh yes!! Such a nice surprise. so many elements of wonder in this new book. overjoyed.

Only about half the book can be colored. I was mainly interested in the "adventure" part of the book. The detail is incredible, so coloring half the book will take a lot of time. Unfortunately the binding split while doing my second coloring page. I read reviews that mentioned coming apart, so I was really carefull.

I read some negative reviews of this book but this didn't sway me from purchasing and thought I'd share my opinion. The book is a paperback and although it may be better as a hardback, a bit of jacketing will keep it tidy. Inside it is a mix of colouring and activities like Soduko, word search and paper dolls to cut out, play chess and other intriguing things to do. Think of it, a bit like a mature brain teaser or puzzle book but much better and with a story. It is beautifully drawn and seems a shame to go cutting it about ... hmm might need another!!!

Book came earlier than expected, gorgeous illustration combining with colouring, puzzles and other activities. Excellent product!!

This is not a straight colouring book, but one that is filled with activities and puzzles. I got one for me and one for a best friend, so that we can work through them 'together' in isolation! It is not a straight colouring book, rather one of mystery and puzzles! The only thing I don't like is that some of the activities require you to cut the pages (and then you lose what's on the other side). These pages would have been better as perforated 'extras' that you could just pull out when you need to, without cutting into the integrity of the book! Otherwise, a lovely lovely addition to my activity bag!
