Through the Barricades

The only welcoming aspect of this reissue is the bonus tracks and having those 12" mixes finally on. Other than that, this reissue lacks real quality. The remastering is flat and dull, hardly noticeable. It seems that the bass has been eliminated. The sound is marginally better than the original 1986 CD. The DVD will be of interest to fans only.

I bought this re-release of Spandau Ballet's "Through The Barricades" for 2 main reasons - firstly for an up-to-date remaster and secondly for the video documentary that's included. Starting off with the remastering then; the sound is slightly improved with a bit more natural "air" to it but that's about it really and not a huge improvement (but at least they didn't ruin it like some of the other remasters). OK, so what about the video documentary? Yes, that was interesting and well put together, and probably worth buying this edition for if the price is right.

The remastering is downright awful. It lacks punch and sounds so dour. I always get worried when i see the remastering is done by the producer or the band members themselves because do they really have the expertise to do a proper remastering job?The remastering for all Spandau Ballet reissues have been appalling. There was no quality control. They should learn a thing or two from the Phil Collins remasters which were brilliant.

This is a really good album. There are many good songs. My absolute favorite is, through the barricades. I can hear it again and again

Great to hear again on vinyl. Good pressing and sound quality to match, worth it for Through the Barracades and Fight for Ourselves, Tony Hadley's vocals sounds clear and powerful. Good purchase. Recommended.
