Shark Light and Easy Steam Mop (S3251)

I bought this mop in July2016; it is now May2020 and it still works great. Granted I do not use it frequently - simply because I got lucky and have a fiancé who is willing to mop the old-fashioned way, but when i wan to do a deep clean or particularly sanitize things, this is great. If i had a higher traffic home i might use more often. Do use distilled water as recommended- its cheap at the grocery store and a gallon will last. There is a bissell product you can add for scent or spray a bit of a cleaner like Mrs Meyers on the floor just before you steam mop it. do go ahead and order an extra clothc cover/pad( you can use a dish towel in a pinch but its annoying. Because it will not wrap around the mop head and stay put. Mop heads can be laundered and if your home is more than an apartment , you will probably just want to switch out mop cloths and keep mopping rather than wait to wash the one that comes with it. Vacuum before you mop. Slightly heavy- so do not plan to hang to store it( less than a vacuum, more thsn a mop).

Not a fan. This is my 4th Shark mop. They get heavy use in my multi-pet house and when my last one died, I immediately ordered another one. I thought this was like the original mop I had many years ago (and loved), but unfortunately it's not.The Bad:1. The cord is SHORT. I used to have to plug in in 2 different spots. Now it's FOUR! (It's actually 5, except I refuse to move it a 5th time and wash that corner by hand).2. Poor steam production. All of the old mops created ample steam - they made the steam noise and you could see the steam. Even with vigorous handle pumping, the pad barely gets wet.3. Bad cleaning: The pad is terrible and does not remove dirt. There is also no way to apply real pressure to difficult spots. You can go back and forth a million times but it will be the gentle pressure of a butterfly's wings unless you lean down and really force the pad (at which point you are hand cleaning and may as well just do that). You were always able to exert some downward pressure with the other mops. I have skipped a week of mopping which would normally result in 2 VERY dirty pads with my old Shark. I skipped a week with this one and the pad barely had dirt. A little hand cleaning and some very dirty towels confirmed that it was the mop and not that my dogs miraculously stopped tracking in dirt.That's it - only a bad list. There is no good to this mop that you can't find in every Shark mop. Get a different one. I don't know which one to recommend yet, but I can save you the trial and error of this one.

I have vinyl flooring with 2 young kids so i was looking for something that would not use chemicals but would clean. The steam that comes out of this mop is the key to cleaning my floors. There are things on my floor that get dried on because of my kids. The steam does a great job getting these things off with minimal effort.This mop comes with a little fill container to fill the reservoir. After plugging it in, it takes a few minutes to get up to temperature. In order to get the steam out, you pump the handle and after a few runs, the pad on the bottom gets wet and it works so much better. I've done my entire first floor with one tank of water so it lasts quite a while (unless there is stuck on food around where my kids eat), then it doesn't last as long. The cord is quite long too. This is a great little mop

I have white vinyl in my kitchen, tumbled marble in my master bath and honed limestone in my entryway to start with. Since I'd not steamed the surfaces before, I vacuumed first and in the case of the entryway, I wet mopped (Swiffer WetJet). I use the WetJet regularly. Two passes with the Ninja and the vinyl looked brand new and the tumbled marble looked almost new. The entry is 5 shades lighter (yes, only crazy people put honed limestone in their main entry) and I think it will only get better with subsequent efforts.My best tip is to get your steam going and make the first pass to loosen up the surface dirt. Second pass will do the cleaning. I had one a few years ago in my second home and loved it then too. My downstairs family room and large spa bathroom have porcelain tile and I will do those next.$40. Who can complain. I'm ordering additional pads now.

Works well, love the pump for steam to get at those trouble spots, love the pads it comes with, and LOVE the swivel head. It's small enough to get into the tightest spaces and yet broad enough to do the floor in a reasonable number of passes. It's quiet, simple, light, and adjustable. My 9-year-old can use it just as well as I can, and since we have a houseful of pets (dogs and cats) we use it a few times a week to clean our hardwoods and tile. My ONLY complaint with this steam mop (and I've had four in the last decade) is that the cord is WAY too short. I have to use an extension cord to make it viable. If not for the cord, I'd have given it five stars. I think I like it better than my old Shark Steam and Vac, except I miss the super long cord on that one.

So far this thing is working great! It is my very first steam mop. I have tried so many of the regular mops, including the swiffer ones, & they all break some how w/in a short amount of time. I have only used this maybe 20 times or so, so I'm not ready to say it's long-lasting, but it does get the job done pretty well. It would be cool if they could get a lithium ion battery for it, cause the cord is a bit of a pain in the butt, especially in our home where outlet placement makes no sense. But I like it. I've washed the pad a few times now, and it comes out good. I will get another one for backup. At this point in time, I would say I'm glad I got this.
