Wii Console with Mario Kart Wii Bundle - Black

I'm a Sony Fan Boy to the core. ( Nintendo Fan boys if you can not accept this stop reading this review). I have been playing my ps3 about 2 years now. Playing a lot of excellent games. But even a Sony's Hardcore like me, feels nostalgia about games like Zelda and Mario. Then I decided to buy a wii, when I saw the wii got a Prince drop and 30 dolar bonus , I couldnt resist the offer and I bought inmediately. The wii , in terms of hardware, is way inferior in comparison to the ps3 or 360. The wii only support up to 480p, meanwhile the 2 other system can go to HD, 1080p (how freaking amazing would have been Link or Mario in Hd!). Also it doesnt have strong online services and this is where the wii fails in the competition. To connect your wii, it must be wireless, if you want to connect you DSL cable, you need to buy another accesory , a minor problem , but for me that is annoying. Ok now that I have pointed out some little problems of the wii , let move on to where wii shines... Games !!! , Wii have seriously some of the most fun games ever made!. The ps3 have a lot of excelletn games, but if you realize most of these games are the same genre: shooting. While the wii have a lot of variety. Though the wii doesnt have the breathtaking graphics of the ps3 or 360, the game play is just excellent. I must admit the wii it is just as fun as my ps3. Super mario Galaxy 1 and 2, twilight Princesss , are just extremely amazing. Twilight Princess just top as one of my favorite game of all time. These types of game are the one that makes gamers to say: this how a game should be, exploring and having fun. Not like thos FPS online games that have made us into their slaves ( Im one of them , Damn you Modern warfare 2 for stealing my time). After playing enought alone, I bought 3 more controllers and played with my friends... just amazing ! Playin smash brawl and mario party, just makes us remember those time when the n64 was alive, playng against each other and laughing a lot. It might not be a 360 or PS3 in terms of graphics, but the Wii has a place in a gamers collection. I wondered why I didn't get one sooner. I wanted this particular model (RVL-001) for backwards compatibility with GameCube games. The newer models (RVL-101, RVL-201) are not GameCube compatible. Moreover, some earlier Wii titles that need GameCube accessories will not work either. You can go to Nintendo's site for more details.The seller I got this unit from had Mario Kart, Wii Sports, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Zelda Skyward Sword. I have so far enjoyed all of these titles. Not sure yet what games I want to get next. I am sure they are deals on them now as the next generation consoles are being released. I am also interested in Virtual Console games.The controls are new to me and it is taking time to get use too. The motion of the controllers add another dimension of game play. Wii sports can really get the heart pumping.The only issue I have is that the Wii's internal memory is small. I am not sure on the exact size without looking at the specs because Wii's software measures the memory in what is called Blocks. If you have a lot apps on your Wii, they will not be much space for downloaded games and game saves. You will need a SD card. Fortunately, they are quire affordable these days. If your Wii Menu is below version 4.0, then only SD with 2 GB capacity is supported. With 4.0 and higher, SDHCs up to 32 GB are supported, but from what I seen on the forums, most people don't even fill up their 8 or 16 GB cards. You can save some money there. I currently have a 2 GB for game saves.

As of today 8/1/11 this product has been a very bad experience. I purchased this unit in May of this year. Around the middle of July all remotes lost sync with the main unit. I contacted Nintendo for corrective action. Nintendo ran me through some test to see if it can be corrected before sending it back. The test are listed on their web site. I informed them that I had already performed those test, more that once. They did not believe me and I ran through the test again. They then emailed me a FedEx return slip with RMA. Quick turn around. At first I thought it was to quick. Turns out I was right. Nintendo took my new unit, scratch free, sent me a used unit, scratches included. The new used unit worked once. Next day it was doing the same as my new unit. Again, I contacted Nintendo, and again they made me go through same test, that I again told them I had performed. When I informed him that this unit is clearly not functioning properly, he responded by notifying me that Nintendo would not send me back my unit without first ensuring that it was properly repaired. Interesting statement since they did not send me my original unit. When I questioned them about my original unit, the response was "to expensive to fix..cheaper to send another unit." The Nintendo representative than began telling me how they were going to do me a favor by providing me with another shipping label to send this faulty unit back for repair and how much they were willing to due all this for free. They than implied that normally this would cost me to have this used replacement fixed. When I get the unit back, another used unit no doubt, and it fails again, Sony Play Station here I come.

The product works great and is in great condition! All the accessories were there, in good condition and the game as well. Happy to have a Wii and this game, as it’s nostalgic for me because I grew up with a wii :)

Item was used for a Christmas gift and didn't even work, found out it needed a new sensor bar, which put a damper on the festivities. Also didn't have the cover for over the GameCube controller ports. Remotes came fairly dirty as well. Overall not a good experience with this purchase.
