This Little Thing Is Amazing!!!
My Remington Battery Operated Fabric Shaver arrived today. Before I forget, batteries don't come with the shaver so have 2 AA on hand. First went over a pair of socks that always seem to come out of the dryer with nubbies all over them. Nubbies gone in the blink of an eye. This is a small machine so be prepared for that. You'll be able to get stuff off your clothes every other shaver you've had left on. At least that's the case for me. My last fuzz buster died a few months ago so had some "busting" to do. I've removed lint, nubbies, fuzz off a shawl I had, pills on cushions where legs rub the fabric...and they'll be more. Ok, Ease of use and quality of performance: A+. Down side is you'll have to empty the cup more often because it IS small. Not such a bad deal though because this shaver is very easy to open. It's a breeze to empty the lint cup or take the cap off the blades and take the blades out once in a while to really get all the lint completely out. So, ease of cleaning this shaver: A+. Cost...a no brainer...cheap. Longevity..????..who knows. Update December 12th: There is a cap over the blades that is made of a very thin laced metal. Perfect holes for shaving everything by the way. Maybe there was a little crack in mine...not sure. I know it wasn't because of too much pressure on my part because I'm very careful with it. In any event I heard a crunch sound. Next thing I know I've got a small jagged hole in the blade cover. I'm going to buy another one as soon as I get my refund and give it one more try. This is just too perfect of a fuzz buster to give up after one mishap which could have just been a manufacturing defect. Return is easy. Just pack it up, print out a pre-paid return label, I include a copy of my invoice and off it goes back to Amazon. My refund should be quick once they get it back. Over the years I haven't returned many items but it's always been a flawless experience.

As expected performance - good value and convenient design
After some surfing on Amazon and reading some reviews, I bought this Remington fabric shaver. In summary, the Remington fabric shaver is inexpensive, does the job (but proceed with caution), and has a fairly sturdy build. Here are my experiences: - I really like how heavy it feels in my hand. It's good to have a device that's nice in the hand and wouldn't slip out suddenly. - It looks great. The blue is a nice touch and the transparent fabric shavings holder helps to give me a good idea of when to toss out the trash. - The transparent shavings holder has a section that collects all the shavings. Most of the time, the shavings do not fall out when opening to toss out. It's a wonderful little detail that can help prevent many times when you'd have to bend down to clean up the mess. - The bigger holes in the steel shaving cover allows the lint, etc to collect better. - In terms of performance, my sweaters, socks, and lint on my clothes have virtually vanished. There are more expensive, bigger and stronger fabric shavers, but this Remington fabric shaver is inexpensive and does the job. If well taken care of, this fabric shaver will last a while. If not and even over time, the fabric shaver will eventually be of no use. Still, given the price and performance, it's a must buy for anyone that has lint and fabric problems. Buy with confidence! P.S. Be careful how much pressure you apply to your clothing/fabric. Make sure the intended area is flat, so that no drapes get stuck in the blade. With any fabric shaver, there is a potential for holes and damage, especially if not handled carefully.

Removes fuzz and pills
I ordered this to remove fuzz and pills from well-used wool dryer balls. It wasn't a fast or miraculous process, but it worked fine, and my dryer balls are good for a couple more years. I also de-pilled the sleeves of the sweater I was wearing, and it worked fine for that, too. Not recommended for de-pilling things that are supposed to be fuzzy because the shaver may give a crew cut to the "on-purpose" fuzzy. The instructions mention angora sweaters as an example. I also used it to clean up some extra-long fuzz on a sweater from a Velcro snag. That task might have been better accomplished with small scissors because of the heavy knit texture on the sweater - the shaver surface is really meant for smoother fabrics - but the snag was much less noticeable after a few seconds of de-fuzzing and the shaver handled fuzz up to about 1/2 inch long. The head of the shaver has three cutting blades under a protective foil and three tiny fan blades inside that help pull fuzz/pills into the shaver and push it through to the shavings container (think air flow, not vacuum). Minus a star for the extremely light duty cutting blades, and the battery compartment cover and shavings container which are super easy to remove when you want to (yay!) or when you don't (oops). I was able to overcome surprise compartment openings by holding the shaver differently. There's also an area under the blades, but above the shavings container, that accumulated some shavings that were kind of pain to get out. Some of the wool shavings made their own little baby wool ball in there, which required long pokey tweezers to pull out. The instructions do mention you can order a replacement blade set, but I was unable to find any online (including the manufacturer's replacement parts site) so no idea if that's actually possible or affordable, or if you just get a new shaver when the blades get dull. At this low price point, it's probably the new shaver.

Small, light and works perfect
This review is for Remington RTFS-2 FuzzAway Fabric Shaver. I bought it on Prime Day to get rid of lints covering up my favorite cotton blanket. First of all, this product is smaller than you would expect and on its box, it says "travel size" which wasn't indicated in Amazon's product description. Because it is small, it took a while to get rid of all fuzz on my cotton blanket (a couple of hours). So, this clean up task allowed me to test the product very thoroughly. Here are my observations: - It looks like it is made from very cheap material. Battery cover is not tight enough as I expected. However, it works quite well without damaging the cloth. - As the product is travel-sized, the fuzz container is very small but it doesn't interrupt you that much. - Cleaning is very easy. The blade cover can be easy removed and it is also possible to take the blades out to clean up the interior side. - If you are going to use it for a long time, like me, you might need to clean the interior a couple of times. - It uses 2 AA batteries which are not included in the package. - It doesn't make so much noise during operation This is a very nice fabric shaver; small, light and good enough to clean up lints without damaging the clothes. I would recommend this product.

Very nice little thing to make your fuzzy clothes look great again!
I have many jackets and coats that got fuzzy on the exterior and interior... those tiny little fabrics balls are very hard to pull them one by one off the coats (even after I pulled those fabric balls off, the coat didn't look nice neither). Since then I seldom wore those jackets and coats again, but I love them so I didn't throw them away! I LOVE this Remington Fabric Shaver!! It saved many of my favorite coats and I can wear them again now cuz I can easily shave off those fabric balls! My coats look SO MUCH nicer without those fabric balls. Less embarrassing too when I wore them out since my coats look much nicer without the balls. It won't make your old jacket/coats look like new, it would be a false hope! No other product will make your old clothes look new, but this little fabric shaver can make it look so much nicer. I highly recommend this product to someone or my friends if they have favorite coats that suffer from these fabric balls after wearing. This Fabric Shaver is hand size and very easy to use. It has protective cover so you don't need to worry about accidentally cutting fingers or hurt yourself. It requires two AA batteries to operate. Also it is very easy to empty the fabrics from the compartment that holds them, though the compartment is very small (make sense cuz the product is small) so I need to empty it twice when I shaved a knee-long coat. This little shaver probably works best for coats and jackets and not for very thin shirts though as other reviews said it may cut a hole in thin fabrics if you are not careful. All in all, I love this fabric shaver, and highly recommend it.

Hard to Review Well, But...
First, the good news: - Inexpensive, as I purchased as an Amazon Prime Add-on product. - Remington is a known and trusted name, so I knew it and trusted it. - It revived the garments I tried first (pet hoodies, of all things) BRILLIANTLY. - Probably the most effective pill remover I've ever tried. Some reviewers complained of fabric shredding pulling issues and such. I had no similar experiences, and I believe if you take care to exercise common sense when using this (ie., pulling cloth taut, type of material upon which you choose to use it, not treating it like a hedge trimmer and hacking at the garment) you, too, will not suffer any damage from using this on your good clothing. Now, the bad: - It's made like junk. - The On/Off switch moves from On to Off, but this seems to be purely for my entertainment because it never actually shuts the motor. Maybe it's just my unit that's flawed, maybe it's pandemic; but certainly, it's a pain. - The battery compartment, once you open it, does not want to stay closed. And I mean when it's empty of batteries because... - THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT COVER DOESN'T FIT WHEN IT'S GOT BATTERIES IN IT. - I had to insert the batteries, leave the cover off, and operate it looking half-built and half-brained. But this didn't make it any worse to use except aesthetically. The batteries stayed in place throughout the process. - But the batteries CAN'T stay in because as I stated above, THE ON/OFF SWITCH IS GLITCHED so the only way to turn the unit OFF is to remove the juice. - This is how I learned the compartment door won't go back on after the batteries are again removed. It just seems that it was made to fit to show all pretty in the package, but once it's been jimmied open, it's just misshapen enough to not fit back where it should be. So now I have a ziplock bag with the unit, the batteries, and the battery compartment door stored together, but disassembled out of necessity. But when I DO assemble it and use it, THE PERFORMANCE ON THIS POORLY MADE UNIT IS UNEQUALED. "Buyer Beware" is more a case of "Buyer Be Aware" because if you don't mind the extra fuss, the results are worth the trouble.

Surprisingly impressive
As stupid as it may seem, I consider 4 star products to be a risk. Despite the fact that this fabric shaver is very cheap, it took me several weeks of consideration before I finally decided to buy it. I could not be more impressed. It's extremely easy to operate; you just gently rub it over your fabrics. I had a few jackets with a ton of lint balls/pills, and this thing made them look brand new. Don't push too hard, you will probably damage the fabric. When I'm using it, I just barely let it touch the surface of the fabric. It works perfectly, and it collects a ton of lint. I even decided to run it over the lower back of some of my polos (a typical place for pills to accumulate) and it worked great. I've used it on a ton of my clothes (and my girlfriend's clothes) and the batteries haven't died yet. Overall, just give it a go if you're on the fence. It worked wonders for me. I'm driving my roommates mad bragging about how good it is and using it on every fabric I can find.
