Spend extra for the fuel version.

All of my other tools are Milwaukee Fuel and they're indestructible. The fuel version of this saw is twice what this one is and I don't do heavy construction so I figured the non fuel saw would be ok for around the house. The guard is cheap thin metal, and it struggles to cut anything besides 2x4 at 90 degrees. I tried cutting a miter on a 2x4 and it jammed up. On cheap 3/4 OSB it really wanders and struggles to stay straight. Also the blade size is a problem, as it limits what thickness you can cut and its not a common size so blade selection is a problem. I really regret this purchase and I am disappointed milwaukee would make such a cheesy product. I am not sure if I will try to sell this used and get the fuel or just deal with it. I sent the seller a message and the reply was I should have got the fuel.... so disappointed in Milwaukee.

Wow- What a piece of junk

Got this because i already have Milwaukee batteries for other tools... WOW this thing is terrible. The fence is very difficult to adjust for blade depth..you have to force it and it almost wants to bend while doing so. Cutting 1/4" plywood, the tool wanders all over the place, even with a clamp-on fence guide...i could not keep it up against the fence. I went back to my Dewalt corded saw and it was fine...so it wasn't operator error. This thing is completely useless.

You get what you pay for (if you're lucky)

I am a Milwaukee cheerleader, owning a heat gun, a contractor corded saw, a sawzall, one corded and two battery drills, I saw the crappy reviews of this model but needed a cheap, portable and lightweight saw for quick masonry and rough framing cuts. Package arrived in good condition with all promised parts. I swapped the super-thin blade provided for a heavier general purpose (non-carbide) blade and found it tracks just fine but really not designed for long straight cuts due to it's light weight. The guard is plastic & flimsy and you have to fight with clearance to get thicker blades between the guard and shaft when installing or removing. My previously purchased Milwaukee batteries do not fit snugly into this saw (even though they do fit nicely into other Milwaukee products I own.Overall an ok (JUST ok) purchase for the price but this is NOT up to the quality of other Milwaukee products I have owned over the past 5 decades ... shame on you Milwaukee, for putting your name on this substandard product.

Got a bent bracket version and had to have it repaired right out of the box

It is no fluke. The reviews here about bent brackets and not tracking are true. I read them and ignored them, thinking it was a fluke. It was not.I could not cut more than 8" without the saw veering right and binding, no matter what I did. I thought I was crazy at first, then remembered reading something in the reviews about this. Cutting sheet goods was a disaster. It was simply not possible.I could not see any bending or non-square mounting to the blade, but it was there even though not obviously visible.I took it in for warranty service per the instructions from the helpful people on the 800 number call line. The service was free, but since it had to be shipped to Milwaukee, it cost me $16 in shipping to fix it. Surprisingly, it was 2 weeks turn around, which isn't bad for shipping away for repair. The good news is that it is fixed. They replaced the bracket holding the foot plate. Seemed to do the trick.I would recommend a stouter version, maybe the Fuel version of this product. This low end version is too touchy. Although mine came defective, I suspect maybe something happened in shipping. Hard to say. The bracket is thin, so any drop may cause an issue. I'm mildly disappointed in Milwaukee. They are letting their brand slip with products like this.

Excellent Milwaukee Circular Saw for any job, works great!

So I'm a HUGE fan of the Milwaukee branded tools. At first I thought this would be a cheapy tool, but after using it several times on a real construction site, I can simply say it's - Fantastic! I'd highly recommend the extended capacity battery if you're doing real world sawing or carpentry. The saw is pretty easy to handle and has the safety mechanism to prevent injury. The blade comes with the unit for standard plywood sawing. If you need a better blade, try out one with smaller teeth for more smaller projects. The only one thing I wish this had was a laser light or LED showing you where the blade will be cutting. .

Light, powerful and easy to handle.

I am building a deck and bought this saw for ease of use and not cord. It took a little time to get used to it as the blade is on the left side which makes the plate width small. At first I tried using my left hand so I could hold the straight edge on the wide part of the plate which is on the right side. I finally started using my right hand and cut free hand following the line I had marked. I was surprised how easy it was to cut a straight line on 2 x10's free hand. I used one of my 5.0 batteries and the charge lasted. After using it all day I put this on one of my favorite tools list.

Milwaukie quality

It's a good quality saw but I have a couple of comments. I've used hand-held power saws for well over 50 years and I've never needed or wanted a "lock off button". Fortunately it's easily defeated with a small piece of wood jammed along side the button. I've always treated power tools like firearms; you keep your finger off of the trigger until you want to shoot or cut. The other comment I have is regarding the lower guard, which in my opinion is poorly designed. A Skill Saw gets out of the way without my thinking about it. On this saw, I need to wiggle it a bit to get it to move out of the way. If it doesn't get smoother with my use, I may consider modifying the tip where it first meets the material to be cut. I'm using older batteries which don't give much cutting time , but I don't think this is a problem with the saw. I'll know better when I get new batteries.

Great Saw, even for the Non Pro

Based on the reviews posted I took a chance and bought this saw. I needed to trim 3 wood doors to replace older, broken ones in an old home. I am not a pro and lack a lot of experience with cutting tools however I felt this saw was perfect for my use case. Cutting was smooth and faster than I expected. Overall the product met my immediate needs and the purchase enabled me to do-it-myself rather than hiring a contractor.

Disappointed

I have several Milwaukee M18 products that I am very happy with but also had the smaller circular saw that didn’t quite do the trick so bought this one with the larger blade. The sight line on this saw is very good, it is also fairly light. There are 2 things that I don’t like. The handle position is uncomfortable for me, it just doesn’t feel natural. Also was surprised to find frequent binding with the supplied blade. Makes me wonder if I should have bought something more powerful.

Super duper for me

A bit heavy but it is solid and oay.. It runs very smooth .Can have Milwaukee beer after nice cuts.

Cheap but it’s all in the motor so she cuts

We got this for a tin structure, basically building according to the size of wood, so we didn’t cut much, but the day hundred cuts it’s not done we are pleased. It does like the large battery. I recommend this for the person using a hand saw.

but it does have a nice deck.

Compared to my last one, this one is lighter does not feel as solid.... but it does have a nice deck.
