GREAT COFFEE AT A GREAT PRICE
I do not normally write 5 star reviews, but I will sure as heck write 1 star reviews by the thousands. So when I write a 5 star, take notice. This coffee is awesome, its especially awesome if you like real dark real strong coffee. Its got a punch but it is not bitter. I am typically hung up on Starbucks Italian Dark roast whole bean, so far this is the only coffee that comes close. My wife purchased a bag at the grocery store even though I only use whole bean that I grind myself in small batches at a time, but I am really glad she got this ground coffee for me to try. It is strong, real dark but mellow. First sips in the morning is a bouquet of flavors; light chocolaty, different nut flavors, and very rich coffee flavor all its own. I wish I could afford it in whole bean, but what they have it priced at is out of this world. I did not understand why they charge so much more for many of the whole beans. But I think I found out why, and I really think its wrong, a little off the subject but please bare with me. Before I retired I owned and operated a multi-million dollar company, the only time we raised prices is if our product costs increased, or we had unusual cost increase in operating expenses. Otherwise our increases sales we generated added to our profitability. I was reading one of the many articles that I get in the Wall Street Journal, and one of the writers interviewed a CEO of Levi Strauss who said something that just ticked me off, and I quote, " We have a particular version of Jeans that we have AN OPPORTUNITY TO RAISE OUR PRICES ON". They have an opportunity, to charge more, they don't need it because of higher costs, or because they need to charge more because of increased expenses. They just have an opportunity to charge customers more. I guess it is the same thing with whole bean coffee, it don't cost the sellers more for whole beans, if anything it costs them less, but they have AN OPPORTUNITY TO CHARGE MORE, an thus the price gouging begins again and it just makes inflation worse. I apologize this is really not the place. Try this Lavazza Italian Roast Ground Coffee, you'll love I am sure, and you will love the low price Amazon is selling it for, it is a very fair price. Amazon, reader of reviews, you have my permission to delete the part about the Wall Street Journal subject matter.

Amazingly Rich Coffee Flavor Right At Home!
I am no cheepy, knuckle-dragger kind of food or coffee lover... Yes, I love going to Starbucks to sample their latest offerings, but I also love to brew a nice, fresh 'Cuppa' (as the English say) of Coffee at Home. I tried another variety of Lavazza Coffee a year before, then ordered this Italian Dark Roast from Amazon. My Lord, it woke up my nascent taste buds to the deep, richness that one can brew for oneself. I have a simple coffee machine (see my review on here) and with this ground coffee I was very satisfied from the first cup in my kitchen... Actually, my Ladies' Kitchen, but I digress. I have never been to Sunny Italy but it's on my long Bucket List. The Food! The Coffee... and much more. Till then I will keep enjoying more of this product from that historic country. Gratzi! Lavazza. La Dolce Vita! too.

Strong, dark, great Aroma. Similar to Starbucks French Roast but less expensive.
Lavazza extra dark roast is the only coffee that comes close to Starbucks French Roast. If you like strong dark coffee this is it. It’s also less costly than Starbucks.

It’s Good
I’m on a coffee tasting spree. I buy something new after every bag runs out. This Lavazza is good. I use a French Press to brew it. The grind is a little too fine for a French Press. But that’s ok. Would I buy it again? Yeah maybe. I have found coffee I like better and they’ve been less expensive.

Best coffee I've ever had
I never thought of myself as a coffee snob until I tried this coffee. Now everything just compares to it. I drink it black and it's incredible. The smell is so good that I walk into a room with it in my tumbler and people think someone is brewing a pot nearby. I don't know how I could compliment this coffee more. If you like dark roast, this is the best you may ever find.

Decepcionado
La verdad estaba decepcionado. No tiene el sabor que imaginé y definitivamente no tiene un sabor intenso. No lo volveré a comprar.

Great coffee but has high carbs
Really good coffee. Always one of my favorites. BUT... I just noticed it has a lot of carbs. I drink a lot of coffee and that adds up fast. I also just noticed all of the LavAzza coffees that I have (including the nespresso pods) have carbs. I guess it's just what LavAzza does to make it taste so good. But be aware of the carbs if that's important to you!

Dark roast lover! Wondering when the change happened?
I've been ordering the Gran Selezione dark roast for many years, and always come back for more because the flavor and intensity are perfect! But I noticed in the last few months, that the price jumped dramatically making it unaffordable at $35 per bag. I suddenly saw the price reduction to $12 and snagged one last week! But much to my dismay, it appears that the once dark roast has now become a medium roast! Has anyone else noticed this? I should mention that prior to 2020, the price per bag was approximately $7. This is concerning :(. Big fan over here, but love the original not the expensive replacement!
