If the Apogee's preamp wasn't so nice I probably would've moved away by now
5 stars for being what I ordered and working properly. However the Apogee One breakout cable is notoriously fragile. This is my 3rd. If the Apogee's preamp wasn't so nice I probably would've moved away by now.

Wish it was a little better designed
I have a bunch of Apogee products. Their actual products (like the ONE, Mic, Duet, and Quartet [I have all four]) are amazing. Their audio interfaces sound great, and although I love recording, I don't have too much knowledge of the process itself and Apogee products generally make it easy and simple to do it.But (and this is a huge but), I really do not like their breakout cable design. The original that mine came with frayed at the fork point and it kinda just annoys me that it works the way that it does. I feel like for such a premium product, the cables should be a little nicer or they should work on how the breakout system works (maybe instead of cables, an actual connector module).Just little things that really make me not like this particular product. It works fine, but mine broke on me before, so I'm a little skeptical.

working again
well sometimes you take a risk on purchasing gear. this particular item worked great to restore my much loved microphone. the old one or the original was the defective and this works 100%

Cheap fix.
Works great. Thought my unit was bad but this cable fixed the problem. Back to making music. Just plug it in and go.

Nothings Lasts Forever Including The Apogee Breakout cable
Hadn't used mine in a while and it was over 10 years old, and it just started buzzing and humming. Seems to me the breakout cable where it thins out and connects to the Apogee One had developed a short. The cable there is quite thin and obviously easy to get crimped which to me is a lousy cheap design. Just glad these replacement cables are still available. And if this one lasts 10 years I'll be happy.
