565 EXC Review! Best flash for the price with all features you need!
This is the best flash for the price and although there are not any video reviews of the flash coz it just came out I bought it by seeing at Yongnuo 565ex video reviews and its the same thing. It has all the stuff and features you need with a nice big backlit LCD. Very good for a primary flash and on camera flash. I take it every where with as it has a very nice hard carrying case which I attach to my camera bad which a hook. Full wireless ettl capabilities with Focus assist laser that projects a doted pattern which makes it effortless to focus in dark situations. Fast recharge cycle at full power while using rechargeable ion 4000 Duracell which are a pack of 8 AA and 4 AAA and are awesome for my two flashes and triggers. Also compatible with Nikon ettl wireless system so basically you dnt need any triggers for off camera usage but you might need trigger if you want to use this inside a soft-box.I got Neewer 1 trigger and 2 receivers for $20 so its something you should have all the time. The hard diffuser is very nice and practical and perform way better than the built-in slide out diffuser.

Excellent Price Point for a Nice, Bright Flash
I have never used an external Flash before. I bought this to pair with my old Canon T3 Rebel camera. I advise beginners to read or watch tutorials to learn how to use this. The shoe mount worked perfectly. Although it does have E-TTL capabilities I found it was easier and preferable to just use it in manual mode anyway. So I guess I could have saved money and purchased a different, less expensive model that didn't have E-TTL but I'm glad I have the option in case I ever want it.

Great flash, fixed my 70D "bounce flash" underexposure issues
If you are looking at this item, then like me you are probably a "budget conscious" photo enthusiast. This isn't my first Neewer flash unit, I started with the NW680 model, but this model is far better for not much more money. I bought these (I liked the first one so much I bought a second) after upgrading my camera from a T3 to a 70D, which supports off camera TTL. These units are great, the 70D (and a few other models) can use the pop up flash to wirelessly trigger and control these units remotely in either manual or TTL mode. They support multi-channel operation, you can ratio the output, etc. I've never spent the money on Canon branded strobes, but I can only imagine these are almost as good. The one thing they lack is the ability to be the master if mounted on the hot-shoe itself (at least in TTL mode). I think the Canon versions can. Oh, and high-speed sync is missing as well. That's the main reason I kept the NW680.Now the really surprising bonus to this particular flash unit seems to be that it works very well on the 70D as a bounce flash mounted on the hot-shoe. If you own a 70D and have noticed under-exposed pictures when bouncing the flash, or if you don't own a 70D because of all the negative reviews you read about that "bug", then this a very cheap solution. I actually thought that maybe I just got a "hot" unit that over-exposed when I first noticed how much better the exposures were when bounced, but when I got the second one it confirmed to me that this is normal. They won't all be perfect, as I get different performance with different lenses and focal lengths, but overall this flash is a huge improvement.Oh, and with off camera TTL mode, there seems to be much better exposure results when bounced as compared to when bounced from the hot shoe. The ability to control multiple strobes from the camera makes this setup great for when you need room filling bounce flash (great for pictures of the kids when indoors). This unit is also Nikon compatible, in case you shoot Nikon. Hope this review helps, especially for those 70D owners who are looking for a solution.

A very nice flash for the entry level photographer.
Ok, I'll just start off by saying I'm no professional. Also since I am a guy, when the instructions to this flash immediately got lost, I obviously couldn't ask for directions on how to use it, or for help to find the original instructions. So I have been just figuring this flash out by trial and error. But surprisingly enough I have actually been getting stellar results with it.I have a fairly entry level DSLR a Canon T4i, and I have always disliked using the onboard flash because it was just so harsh, it really just didn't work good in almost any situation. So I was a little hesitant to buy an external flash, but I had a certain photographic situation come up that made it unavoidable. So I bit the bullet and based on the price and reviews I picked up this one. And so far it has been money well spent. Like I said I have been using this by the trial and error method but fortunately I am shooting rooms with no people so I don't mind taking the extra time to play with settings and tweak things to get the desired result. So far I have been absolutely blown away by the quality of this flash, especially considering how inexpensive it was. I'm fairly still new to the photography scene but for something to start out to learn how to take flash photography I couldn't be happier with it. I'd like to think that someday I will be able to justify buying more high end bodies, lenses, and flashes. But for someone just starting out and on a tight budget this flash is perfect. So far the only thing that I have not been able to work out is how to trigger it via the camera's infrared sender. I'm not sure if there is some setting that I am missing or if it is just not something that can be done with the combination of my camera and this flash.Overall from my perspective I would give this a solid 5/5. I couldn't tell you what the Canon version that costs like 5 times as much can do that this one can't but for me this is exactly what I needed and it didn't break the bank. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend this to anyone in a similar situation.

Good but EATS BATTERIES
Light is good, it unfortunately EATS batteries like crazy. I mean, I need to replace 3 or 4 batteries every 20 minutes of continuous ued use.

Ottimo!

Good for price
Affordable, and does the job BUT flash will not fire as frequently & needs to cool down between shots. batteries WILL overheat so be careful with that

A big upgrade over the built in flash on cameras
This item was purchased to use with a Canon 750D DSLR for taking photos at events, parties and within a photo booth. The item is a drastic improvement over the standard built in flash that many cameras have.I tend to use the auto (ETTL) mode most often and once you adjust a few parameters within the camera to achieve the desired exposure then it's pretty easy sailing. After a few months of use I've experienced zero issues. It feels well built apart from the battery compartment door which does seem a little less sturdy than would be ideal. I try to use good quality batteries and get good results from doing so. I've managed to do entire nights of photos (300+) shots, all with flash, without needing to change batteries, but the refresh time does start to slow when the batteries are getting tired. Even then - I've changed the batteries for the next job out of precaution rather than them being completely flat. The accessories are a nice touch. The pouch is basic but offers reasonable protection and has a velcro fastening to allow attachment to your camera bag or such. The diffuser is a very tight fit but once it's on it works very effectively. All in all - a very usable item and a great price in comparison to a main brand equivalent.
