Q: Can you use this outside?

A DANGEROUS PRODUCT—DO NOT USE IT! Light Socket to Plug Adapter Return it, do not use it. Shame on Amazon for allowing this to be sold! I did call and explain to them the dangerous situation. Problem 1: The ground connection on the female side of the item is open and Not connected to any ground. This results in an open ground receptacle. You think you have a good, grounded receptacle, but you DO NOT. Again, it is an OPEN GROUND and dangerous to use. The item is not safety tested by UL, and not UL Listed. Problem2: The hot and neutral may be reversed! IMPORTANT: The lamp socket you screw this item into has NO ground connection, and the item itself has NO ground connection on the male screw end. Again, immediately return this item and do not use it! Especially if the item you are plugging into this adaptor requires a ground connection. I am a retired Electrical Engineer with an MS degree and experience in the power electrical field for many many years.

It isn't grounded. It just lets you use some plugs that don't really need the 3rd wire.

I don't think it would be wise to plug in any high wattage item as the ground is just to be able to plug a 3-pronged plug in. It isn't actually grounded. The wiring on the inside also doesn't look to be designed for high wattage.

If the fixture that the bulb is getting screwed into is grounded, then this would be grounded. Light bulbs don't have ground wires.
