In each case, I installed it to use with blackout curtains. -The curved end of this curtain rod allows the curtains to curve around and get closer to the wall, reducing the gap between the curtain and wall considerably. Of course, this cuts down the amount of light that gets through. -The extendible rod makes it easy to adjust to any length. Just make sure the mounts are the same level on both sides and adjust the rod to length and attach by turning the rod to screw it in. -Middle support mount is easier to mount once the bar is mounted by the ends. Just place the middle mount into the location to support the rod and mount it to the wall. I know I'm going to end up buying more of these curtain rods as I install more blackout shades in my kids rooms.
