I used 75% of this with 25% pure essential oil and I have tried 2 types of reeds but the mixture isn’t travelling up the reeds. What am I doing wrong?

Do you turn your reeds upside down and place the dry side into the liquid so the smell at the top of the reed escapes into the room?
