The wooden boards are really well made with smoothly drilled holes that the laces glide through easily, and it's lightweight, difficult to break from regular use.The dinosaur designs are clear enough that children can follow the dotted paths without getting frustrated or bored.Having multiple colour threads makes it more engaging and helps with colour recognition while they're practicing, and you can always add your own thread.The threading holes haven't frayed or split despite regular use. The laces are the perfect length, not so long they get tangled but long enough to complete each pattern. My little one often chooses this over tablet games which makes a nice change.

The boards are lovely, good quality. Disappointed with the threads, rather thin & I had expected them to have a hard tip, like a lace, as my granddaughter is a bit young to use the needle supplied.

The needle is safe but may need an adult to thread.Great for manual dexterity practice and it will improve with practice.Good quality as you would expect from the Montessori name.
