Excellent quality item - our young child loves it!

This is a simple product but it works well. You get lots of each type of number - units, tens, hundreds and 1 thousand block. It's a great way of teaching the link between numbers on the page with real life units and tens. Everything is made out of colourful plastic making it easy to see what is what. The plastic is hard and durable - it will put up with drops and being really used.

Good quality, but it's a pity there are only 10 tens in the set.

Base 10 is brilliant for teaching place value, however in this set you only have ten 10 rods. As a tutor and primary teacher, this makes it extremely difficult to explain the concept of regrouping or exchanging, for example, when adding two 2-digit numbers across the 100s boundary in year 3. For example, if I wanted to teach how to add 63 + 75, I wouldn't have enough 10 rods to model counting 13 tens altogether and exchanging 10 of them for a 100 plate, leaving 3 behind. This is key to teaching place value to young children and I feel this concept has been completely missed by the manufacturers. Why not provide twenty 10s instead, this would solve the problem. Now I have to try and order them.

Brilliant quality BUT huge fundamental floor is that there is one ten tens …. So when using as partitioning / showing moments can’t show over 100 separately before “equal” answer For example can’t do 72+41 as that requires 11 tens to be able to show both numbers before adding them together. Such a shame of such an oversight

Prior to this whole schooling from home situation I honestly never thought to purchase any formal base ten set to help my kids. That being said I certainly wish I had done so sooner, as a former home schooler, I always aired on the side of innovative to help keep costs down, but these are seriously such a beneficial and useful tool for kids. I was happy to find that these come in durable little baggies which will help with keeping them organized. I also like that this set comes in multiple colors which I feel is helpful with the thought processes and association of how each color represents the different units, in turn this enables the kids to tackle math with ease. Kids are visual learners and prefer learning through hands on experience and these give them just that. I think the younger you can start the kids using these the easier and quicker they’ll pick up on math concepts. My youngest is developing so much quicker because I’m providing more tools such as these. I know the price point may seem a bit high, however when factoring in the thickness, durability, and if you have multiple children, you will get your money’s worth as these are sure to last for many years to come. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Love these for 1&2 grade Singapore math lessons. The younger kids like to play with them as well.

El material es bueno, no tiene rebabas o filitos que pudieran lastimar, tiene buena calidad, no es como las perlas pero sirve súper bien para su cometido y a mi hija le encanto y le facilita las operaciones.
