Probably the best flashlight I've ever had

Got this during black friday sale. Have always wanted a flashlight I could take in the pool without destroying it. This one is no where near as bright as advertised, but it's no slouch. Definitely the brightest light I have but battery life is not very good. What make this worse is LiPo batteries don't seem to fade away like a traditional flashlight, this tends to work bright and perfectly then it will just suddenly quit without warning. Probably not the best thing in a dark underwater cave.Does come with a separate battery charger and spare o-ring seals.Nice bright well made flashlight, really lights up the whole pool at night! Recommended highly.

A great cheap dive torch!

This little dive torch surprised the heck out of me. At a price point under $40dollars I thought I was wasting my money, but I’m happy to say it was $38 dollars well spent. Iv been on 25 dives with it so far and have not had a single problem with it. I did what the instructions said and greased the orings before the first dive and charged the battery that came with it. The first 3 dives with the light were all about an hour long and I did not go deeper than 30ft. Dive 4 and 5 the deepest depth was 45ft. And dives 6 through 8 I got down to 80ft. After that they were between 10ft and 90 foot dives All dives were about an hour long, each dive I paid close attention to see if the torch dimmed as the dive progressed and it really didn’t it may have been a little dimmer at the end of the dive but not really noticeable. I used the 18650 battery that came with the torch and also another from another torch Alternating them each dive. I charged them after each dive. The torch never flooded or showed any sign of water inside the torch after the dive. The brightness of the torch is very bright but I don’t think it really is 3000 lm But I have no way to test it. . I tried to use the charger that came with the torch but when it said the batt. was fully charged I switched the battery to one of my more higher end charger with a volt meter and it wasn’t fully charged it charged on the other charger for another 30 minutes. The leash is junk and the hole on the back of the light that the leash runs through is really small so I took a drill to it and made the hole a bit bigger and put a proper bolt snap on it. The Magnetic swivel switch seems a bit cheep they say you can rotate the switch in any direction clockwise or counter clockwise but you can tell it really only likes to go clockwise, but after a few dives it does feel a lot better and going in either direction doesn’t matter. The machining must have been not all that great on the switch and it needed to work it self in a bit. The threads for the battery cap could be cross threaded easily so you have got to be careful when you take the cap on and off and when I got my light there was still some aluminum shavings in the threads from when they were cut. So I had to clean it really good or it would have either messed up the threads or tore the orings and the light would flood. But in saying all that you are still getting a dive torch with over a 1000lm for $38dollars that works really good.I dive in water that has less than 6inches of visibility 95% of the time and I have used this light as my primary with my normal primary as a back up all season. It has not let me down yet. Besides for the few things iv said about it I can’t find one major thing wrong with it. For what I paid for it I love this torch.

Update: Correctable Manufacturing Defect

Update: After writing below review I was contacted directly by the manufacturer to resolve the issue. Although I didn't need any further help as I corrected the issue myself, the fact that they reached out to me to take corrective action was huge. Any company that is that responsive I'll most certainly go back to and promote their product among my diving friends. I'm changing from 3 stars to 5 stars.Probably Review: (3 Stars) I like this light, and I'd buy it again. It's bright, has a good feel, easy to operate - however, on my 3rd dive with it the light failed after getting into the water. Upon investigation after surfacing I noted that the ring above the lens that keeps it sealed had somehow backed off, allowing water to fill the case. The good news is that I completely disassembled it and let it dry for 24 hours. After putting silicone on all the seals and reassembly, it still works. This was fresh water - salt may have been a different story. I have since put red Loctite on the ring's threads to make sure it doesn't back off again, which I'd recommend prior to first use for anyone purchasing this product

Not reliable. They work fine for a while, then suddenly stop in the middle of a dive.

I bought 3 of these lights in November of 2021. The light they produce is bright and focused well for both night diving and for looking under reefs for critters during the day. I have never once gotten any water in any of these lights, but as time went on, these lights would be working fine underwater, but suddenly stop. At the surface they would still appear to be dead, run the switch back and forth and the light would not turn on. If I slightly crack the end cap and tighten, the light would start working again. Trying to slightly crack and tighten while underwater would not resolve the issue, even though the double o ring seal kept the water from coming in while trying that. If you look at how these lights are made, the barrel of the flashlight has a section on the end that is not anodized and interfaces with a corresponding surface on the inside of the cap. For whatever reason, this surface either oxidizes or gaps underwater eventually and nothing I have tried seems to keep it from happening. I've tried cleaning them with some fine sandpaper, vinegar on a q tip and even using deoxit contact cleaner all to no avail. I've tried stretching the springs slightly in case something was compressing a part at depth and shifting the contacts. It happens randomly and without warning. The last 2 dives I just did In Cozumel with my boys I ended up having 3 spare lights made by other vendors that I had borrowed from my dad and another friend clipped to d-rings so I could hand them out when these failed. both of them had failures within minutes of each other. I'm home now, unpacking and have cut the snap bolts off of these lights. They are now junk-drawer flashlights for use around the house. I'm going to spend some money on some lights from a reputable vendor and consider this a lesson learned.
