dial
cheap and cheerful dial indicator - works well and is as accurate as its specs - a tiny bit of light oil on the bezel and it improves really well - i might have been lucky and got the best one ever made!!!! a lot of other buyers mention hands falling off and non turning grating bezels but mine is jst fine!!

Highly recommended (0-10mm mechanical)
I bought the 10mm dial indicator because I don't need any more range. I suspect this is made for a US market because the useable range is 13+ mm e.g. 1/2 inch. The action is smooth and repeatable, with a spring force that's about right. The back is plastic and there are four screws so it's possible to rotate the mounting hole 90 degrees if required. The top is slightly domed so the plastic "glass" is slightly proud of the front at the centre. The dial rotation is smooth and the main parts are chromed steel for the sliding pin, main housing and clamp. the bezel is also metal. Compared to a pair of digital callipers it is as accurate (0.01mm) or better e.g. measure a steel bar or a metal coin and compare. Especially useful for measuring drift on a saw blade or runout on a drill. With care it could be clamped by the shaft, but I will probably use a bolt through the mounting hole with two metal washers. Comes in a cardboard box with a polystyrene carrier (best kept for protection). Feels like a Swiss watch e.g. delicate but precise and probably more rugged than it looks. Made in China but with a degree of care/precision. With care it should last a lifetime and has a (measured) value much more than it costs. Highly recommended.

You should know what you buy.
So you cannot buy this cheaper even from china, with that in mind, IT WORKS and it's fairly accurate. Is it crusty ? - yes. Gems ? - you joking right ?! Is it working? - Yes?! - with a bit of work flawlesly Is it worth the money? - It depends on your needs. For me: yes. The dial barely moves, as the aluminium housing is not nicely finished. You just take out the "glass", it hold in by a retainer spring (see on the second picture) and with a bit of oil behind the outer ring, start to work it, keep it dial facing down. so the shavings fall out. Play with it until it moves nice and smooth, blow it out with gentle air. TINY bit of oil on the moving parts on the back and the shaft, it become different, more decent indicator. So summarize £10 inidcator crusty as gets, do a bit of cleanup and it is really usable, know what you buy. If you want something nicely working out of the box, forget it, spend more money. All in all, I'm happy with this purchase!

Accurate, Repeatable Measurements and great value. Buy one.
I am using this gauge to measure the thickness of soundboards for acoustic guitars. The 10mm range is more than enough for my purposes. I chose a dial gauge over a digital gauge so that I could more easily see variations, sliding the board underneath. I modified my shooting board to accept the gauge, and the butterfly nuts at both ends of my clamping board get me to just touching the surface (0.05mm) - the adjustable bezel zeros the reading. The gauge is accurate to within 0.02 mm of my digital vernier calipers, but the most impressive thing is the repeatability of measurements. On removing the soundboard the reading returns to exactly zero - time after time. I am highly impressed with this item and would recommend it, especially since commercial tools for measuring soundboard thickness cost well over £100.

DTI Gauge
Its good value for the money and works well.

Good value
Very happy, it runs very smoothly and it’s repeatable. No reason to question the accuracy, but it rarely matters anyway as most uses are just for checking if the workpiece is running true.

Die Messuhr ist für meinen (nicht professionellen) Zweck genau richtig: sie ist sehr günstig und ich habe mir damit eine abnehmbare Einrichtung gebaut, um die Druckfläche meines 3D-Druckers genau zu justieren. Funktioniert hervorragend!

This dial indicator does what it should except that turning the scale around to get it to zero has so much friction that this function is almost useless if you use the dial indicator in a regular "stand" or whatever you call them in English. The dial indicator should be mounted in anything much more rigid and heavy if you often need to zero the indicator by turning the scale. But apart from this, it gets the job done. They where cheap and you get what you pay for.

Barato y eficaz, en mi caso añadiéndole a una base magnética, perfecto para medir el alabeo de unos discos de freno
