Black feathers, black comb, black eyes, black skin, black meat and even black bones. It truly is one of the most unusual of the black chicken breeds. This book contains a wealth of information about caring for and looking after these Indonesian chickens as pets, or for breeding. Whatever you choose, the Ayam Cemani hen is a truly unique specimen. This book is written in easy to understand English and is perfect if you are a beginner. Review: All information in the book literally out of Internet. Also untrue information. - I was so delighted when got this book for Xmas. Started reading right away. A thin book written with very large font. I was hope to read about this specific beautiful breed, instead of that I got a general chicken keeping guide for beginners with the word 'chicken' replaced with 'ayam cemani'. I'm an Ayam Cemani breeder and I was shocked to see the prices for these birds included in the book. The author forgot to mention that prices vary a lot depending on the country and continent. Also, she says to follow DEFRA rules when planning chicken keeping but then he says that one of the other sources of feed can be 'chicken scraps'! I was shocked and disgusted as this it totally against the DEFRA regulations! All information on breeders taken straight from the internet, some of them not having a good opinion amongst other cemani breeders and some names taken from ebay selling adverts. The part for showing consists of a general ayam cemani standard you can find on the net. No practical advice or pictures on what to pay attention when selecting the best breeding stock. I dare to say that the author is not only not a keeper of this breed but also has no great experience with poultry at all. I can't wait to write my own book on these beautiful birds!!! Complete Waste of Money
This book offers very little information regarding the Ayam Cemani Chickens. all of the information in the book could easily have been achieved by searching the web. There is no indication that the author has any experience at all with Cemains, maybe not even chickens. i want my money refunded.
