Clean, Quiet, Effortless
Iโve been really impressed with the Furbulous litter box. Setup was straightforward, and it immediately felt like a thoughtful upgrade from a traditional box. The automatic cleaning feature works consistently and saves a ton of timeโno more daily scooping, which has been a game changer. What stands out most is how well it controls odor. Even in a smaller space, it keeps things noticeably fresher, which I didnโt expect to such a degree. Itโs also surprisingly quiet during operation, so it doesnโt startle my cat or disrupt the room. Speaking of my cat, the transition was smooth. Within a short time, they were using it comfortably with no issues. The design feels safe and well-built, and the app connectivity (if you use it) is a nice bonus for tracking usage and maintenance. Overall, the Furbulous litter box delivers on convenience, cleanliness, and ease of use. Itโs a worthwhile investment if youโre looking to simplify your routine and keep your home fresher.

Our third Furbulous box ๐
We ordered one of the earliest Furbulous Boxes when they were still fundraising on Indigogo and, after some hiccups with the first unit, we had our second unit (a replacement sent to us by the company) for many years. It worked brilliantly until about 10 days ago, when after unplugging to move the unit to vacuum behind and generally clean the unit all around, it would not power back on after plugging back in. We checked the breaker, tested the outlet, etc with no issues, so we could only conclude there was an issue with the unit. A few emails back and forth with the Furbulous team about the issue, and we were generously offered a discount code for a new unit since ours was so far out of warranty. The unit arrived unexpectedly fast and we (myself, my husband and our two cats) are very impressed with the upgrades. Most notably the new unit is vastly quieter when cleaning after a cat has toileted. We have not changed the type of litter we use, but the sound of it rolling around in the drum and the motor are both significantly quieter! The addition of the small platform that is installed at the opening is helping minimise the amount of litter that our cats kick out - thank you! Everything else is as expected - the app, the odor elimination pucks and the trash bags are what we are accustomed to from our prior unit, and the cats didnโt notice the unit had changed. Thank you to the Furbulous team for the continued excellent customer service and to the product team for consistent quality.

Amazing machine for those who don't like to sift through litter
I love how little cat liter is needed to work and adding more is fairly easy. The app notifies me promptly once my cat has used it, and the time of use and weight in of my cat is a nice feature to let me know how frequent. The self packing feature works great so I never have to tend to sealing and smelling the waste. Only con is that it requires buying their waste bags, but for me it works out to about $1 a week. My cat was comfortable using it right from the start and seems to go regularly.

waste of money
Garbage smart litter box. Besides being massive, I'm having a malfunction every few weeks particularly with the trash box. The trash fills up at least once a week and the trash fills with perfectly good clean litter so not only are the expensive trash bags running out quickly, but it also ends up wasting a lot of litter. The trash boxes are specific to furbulous. It is advertised as 10 bags, but I'm lucky to get 4-5 fills out of it before it malfunctions and I have to throw the rest of the trash box and bags out. The app interface is very specific and when it malfunctions it is very difficult to reset it back to normal. Customer support has limited hours and you end up stuck unable to troubleshoot or fix the problem. Would not recommend unless you want to continuously waste money on litter and trash bags as well as pull your hair out trying to keep the thing clean and functional for more than 2 weeks.

Wonderful customer service.
**Update 5/13/26** I had customer service reach out to me after I updated my review and they were great. Despite the unit being outside of it's warranty period, they offered to ship me a completely new unit free of charge for my troubles. The new unit has worked flawlessly from the moment I connected it. In this day and age having a company back their product even outside of it's warranty period feels almost unheard of. Thank you to the Furbulous Customer Service team! **Update 4/18/26** In my previous review, I mentioned that they had let me keep the old box and were shipping me what they said was a replacement part for a defective trash sensor. I replaced it thinking maybe I'd end up with a spare box. Nope. The sensor replacement didn't fix it and an entire Furbulous cat box ended up in the dumpster. Mind you, at the time, these were like, $600. I didn't complain though, as they had sent me a whole other unit and it had been working fine. Had this thing for a little over two years. During that time, I've certainly grown to be annoyed with this product. It uses specific trash bags, which I was willing to deal with assuming the product worked properly. Which it off again on again has. Several times over the past two years updates to the app have effectively disconnected my box, or made it so that I was unable to remotely send commands to it, such as packing the trash bag to be taken out. Let's talk about that for a second while on the subject. Sometimes it seals well, but most of the time it doesn't. It's an absolute gamble. After the 10th time or so of the bag splitting open when being removed, I started cutting and tying the bottom of the bags in a knot so that could t happen anymore. I've had several errors through out my time with this thing. Support pretty much always says the same thing: restart it. If that doesn't work, give us the device's MAC ID. Oh, it didn't take an update, we'll force it through. For a while, most people got stuck with an error stating 'cat around' making the unit non-functional because it thought there was a cat inside it nearby. Nice safety feature, y'know, if there's actually a cat inside / around it. Came home tonight to my unit now providing an e7 error, where the box locks up while it's rotating / attempting to dump litter / feces. Which of course, if you unplug, remove the top of it and then undo the latch that holds the cylinder in place, means you have to fight all the litter inside that's settled on the opposite side, to rotate it and try to free it from the gears that're meant to turn it. When it works, it's nice. That's the problem though, it feels like it's always a fight to have it work normally until something magically makes it stop working correctly. Honestly, if I hadn't just restocked on trash bags for it, I would've thrown it in the trash this morning when it was locked up again. **Update 7/29/24** After working with Furbulous' customer service team, they shipped out a replacement box. I was told I could keep the malfunctioning box and use the replacement sensor I was shipped to repair it. The sensor is coming from China and has yet to arrive, however I'm looking forward to giving this a try. I was also shipped some of their proprietary bags for the litter box as an apology. So far the new box has been working as advertised -- will continue to update the review as things progress. ------------------------------------------------------ I wanted to like this box. The design is straight forward, it's simple enough to understand and operate. Perhaps the only thing I didn't like about it up front was that it requires the use of specific bags that can only be acquired through the manufacturer to work as intended. Ended up on sale for prime day and I pulled the trigger. Here's how my experience went: Unboxing and setting this up was extremely simple. All the extra parts came packaged in the pull out drawer for the trash. I removed the orb so that I could pour litter into it, rather than have to scoop the litter into it, as once in place, there's no way to load cat litter into the device due to the angle of the opening. This is a bit of an oversight in the items development. But, not enough to be -that- off putting. I installed the waste bags and then replaced the cover / hood before plugging the unit in. Every time the unit is unplugged, it goes through a sensor check, no issues occured. After it was finished, I created an account for the app on my phone and began the syncing process, which was painless. There's no option to manually update the firmware of the device in the app. Under the firmware option, it'll only tell you what version you're running with no way to push that update via the app or the unit itself. Assuming the unit was fine, I introduced my cat's to the box, who didn't have any issues taking to the new litter box. However, after one of my cats used the unit for the first time I received a notice on my app after the unit went through a 'cleaning' cycle (it scooped the box and dumped it into the trash bag). Once this process finishes, I'm sent an error code E13. While this error displayed, it locked out the menu buttons on the unit and wouldn't allow for a software restart. Thinking it was something on my end, I unplugged the unit, took the top off and began thoroughly looking over the unit before reassembling and plugging back in. When it restarted, it went through it's usual sensor and balancing check and no longer showed the error. This exact same issue occured after my other cat decided to use the box shortly after the first. So I wrote customer service, explaining what I had encountered. They assured me that the E13 issue was nothing to be concerned about and that a firmware update would resolve this issue. This process requires me to get my MAC address for the device and give it to their customer service representative so they could push the update to the device. One update later I followed the instructions which had me unplug the unit for a minute after the update had finished and then plug the unit back in. Once more the unit went through it's sensor and balance check. Once more the E13 code was cleared. Half an hour later, one of my cats used the unit again and the same E13 returned locking up the box. I immediately sent another email to customer service, who told me to "Unplug the device and plug it back in. Then if it continues to occur, send them photos of the code and the serial number." Following their instructions, this temporarily reset the unit, clearing the code until the box went through this cycle yet again. While I waited for one of my cats to use the box again so I could follow up, I spent my time deep diving the issue. There really isn't a lot online regarding this issue. However, I found a foreign version of the manufacturer's website that had a lost of device error codes and their "resolutions". I sent a screen shot of this as well as my serial number back to customer service as soon as the error returned. (I've included this screen shot in the photos). It started that the ultrasonic sensor has failed and the only fix is to replace the unit. Despite me citing this directly to their customer service team, they insisted that they have to run the problem through their engineering team, who won't be in until Monday. (This was all happening during the course of a Friday). And if they need to replace the unit, they would, after. I considered returning the item as defective directly through Amazon, however there wasn't a replacement option available -- only a refund option, which means that I would have to reorder a new unit and would lose out on the discount that I had received from prime day as the promotion had ended. So here I sit, with a neigh unless litter box that I spent several hundred dollars on -- plugging and unplugging any time I get a notification that it's been used and now has the E13 error.

Worth every penny!
I honestly wasn't prepared for how much I would love this thing! I have 2 cats and I travel a lot for work so being able to not only control it remotely but also see updates has given me peace of mind while I'm away. They started using it right away. I haven't scooped litter in months and I'm never going back! There's also no more dust or foul smells in our home and that alone was worth it's weight in gold. We don't have a ton of space in our home so I auditioned putting it in my office to see how it would go and as long as you autopack the trash anytime it's full and replace the scent bar whenever needed, you won't notice a smell. I wouldn't keep it in my office if there was any smell at all. We use scoop away litter packs because they're small and easy to fit into the main compartment. It can be tough trying to fill the main compartment with litter if you use a big cardboard box so just a heads up there. The whole compartment can be removed and you can tilt it back to fill it up but we just prefer the smaller packs and the litter itself performs well so that's why we use it. I also haven't had to replace the litter in months either. It's good to deep clean every few months but the litter is constantly rotating which means that all you really have to do is just add more. Everything comes already assembled which is amazing! All you have to do is add the bags, add the litter, and plug it in. There are also some cool functions that let me know that my cats will always be safe. The proximity sensor on the front will prevent the device from working if a cat is nearby and the scales in the feet also help you keep track of your cats weight which is pretty awesome! It's definitely a lot of money to spend on a litter box but I personally think it was well worth it. Enough about the Furbulous, honestly the most important part is the customer service. They're extremely friendly and responsive which is somewhat rare these days. If you're on the fence, give it a shot! I promise you won't want to go back.

Problematic
As much as I wanted to enjoy this product, it comes with a lot of problems. The sensors are very sensitive and the hatch will close if something is nearby (even if there is nothing nearby). It's also very difficult to clean. We were hoping to be able to travel with this litter box and not worry but that's not the case.

Furbulous automatic litter box
This device does everything it says it does the cats and I both love it. I have two cats . It is clean causes no odors my friends donโt believe I have two cats . I recently had a problem with it stalling I had a zoom meeting with an engineer via laptop and it was a quick fix. I highly recommend this product to anyone. It is good value for money. It does not leak.
