Better Than Plastic
It's not perfect, but it works better than the 3D printed Bowden extruders on thingiverse. I've experimented with various different types of 3D printed options and a couple other cheap metal options. So far, this has been the most reliable of them. Unlike the 3D printed ones, there is no risk of warping when your extruder motor gets hot. It's also easier to assemble than other machined aluminum kits. Loading this extruder is easy and less painful on your fingers than the types with a short tensioner arm and a protruding hex screw (OUCH!). Filament slides right in and gives no trouble. Even works with slightly flexible filaments, although I havn't yet tried it with TPU or comparable products. But there are two drawbacks to this product. The first is the lack of a good way to adjust the tension. Lucky for me, I haven't had a need to adjust this. The second issue is that it's not reversible. There is only one direction you can use this in and you can't have a tube connected to both ends. A bit of a bummer, but not a deal breaker for me. Some may find it unusable for their particular needs tho, so make sure the orientation works for you before you buy it.Oh yeah, and I like the colors. :)

Upgrade for MPSMv2
Picked this up for my v2 monoprice select mini printer.Everything feels like quality except for the bowden tube fitting which as others have mentioned is weak and crappy. For my printer, I cut the original plastic base in half to raise the lever and printed a pair of 5mm tall spacers for the gold side.Haven't had any issues with spring tension and the included gear, even when using woodfill which tends to be softer/more brittle. Keeps good grip on filament, especial compared to the stock gear.I love the long levers, but getting the filament to thread through into the bowden tube can be a little finnicky.

high quality parts and very easy to assemble
Shouldn't be a real problem for anyone but this doesn't come with any instructions. Looking at the picture is helpful for assembly. Overall, high quality parts and very easy to assemble. However, this claims to be compatible with the Anet A8 printer, which is somewhat true, but the handles do not fit in or on the bracket that holds the motor in place on the stock Anet A8. I had to cut the bracket on mine to make this fit which wasn't a problem for me because I never use the cooling fan, but if you use your fan and don't have plans to modify your motor bracket, I'd hold off on this extruder model

Like it
The two extended levers make it easier to release tension on filament. Only issue is having to not tighten the mounting screw on the movable lever. it is directly against the stepper motor housing. Tighten the screw and you can'y move the lever. Looking for a small bearing to place between it and the housing or possibly filing a it down a bit.Overall I like it.

Great extruder if you are thinking of making the switch to Bowden!
Good quality Bowden extruder for the price. Nice anodized levers make changing filaments 1000x better than stock anet a8. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because as others have said too much tension makes the provided spring basically unusable. Also imho this kit should include 2 small washers so the lever arm does not bind to the mounting bracket.

Worked as expected
Setup was quite easy. Other reviews said that the spring was too strong, so I used the original spring from my Anet A8 extruder, instead of the one that came with this kit. Changing filament is much easier with the Bowden setup! The only other modification I made was to the end of the hose nipple. I found that feeding the filament down through, it would catch on the end of the nipple before entering the bowden tube, so I took a countersink and tapered the end so there was nothing to catch on.All in all, I'm very happy with this setup!

Defiantly not replacement for Anet A8
Well this is definitely don't replacement to Anet A8!!I have a machine shop I'm going to accept the challenge and try to make it work I like the ability to ease loading the filament. The over quality is great well made very nice but, no will it work on the Anet A8 with out some serious modification.Bracket does not fit 2 wide, no way to attach to the X carrage mount. With out drilling, new screws cutting, grinding etc.I will up date after some tinkering, cutting grinding. If you do not have some metal working skills, stay away I'm hard headed and like a challenge. There is on hole in the lower portion like the original to accept the mounting screw. If you drill and tap a screw it will not clear the carriage mount..Not a large sum of money if it does not work.No instructions probably for that reason..

Unable to advance filament.
I bought these WINSINN 3D Printer Bowden MK8 Extruder as an upgrade to the plastic extruders on my Geeetech A20M. Installation was easy and straight forwarded until it came to the extruder filament test. The springs on the MK8 is so strong that it does not allow the filament to advance. The MK8 does not have a Spring Tension Adjustment so there is nothing that you can do for it without replacing the springs. Therefore I am returning the MK8's for a Model that does have Spring Tension Adjustment and maybe dual gears.

upgrade
I thought I'd bite the bullet and upgrade to a Bowden setup on my 3d printer. After what feels like a silly amount of time getting it fitted I think It's now sorted. It's much better seeing whats happening with the fillament as it's being fed through the extruder. I haven't figured out yet how to set it so that it feeds into the PLTE tubing from the extruder without having to unscrew the tubing connector first and manually feed it as it passes through. I also had to replace a couple of bolts for longer ones as they didn't quite fit to the stepper motor. Saying that with all its teething problems it is a much better solution to having the stock direct drive setup that came with my pronter.

Not great changed to bmg clone
Worth investigating in dual gear instead
