I like the weight of this mat. It is heavy enough not to float around on the floor, and sturdy enough to leave out and exposed to the weather without being damaged.Our back porch has a wood pallet sort of riser we use as the step. It is getting old and slippery when it is wet or icy outside. I used this mat out there, and despite weeks of severe wind gusts, rain, and frost, it has remained in place and effectively cleans off the bottom of my shoes/boots when I need to walk out back. I'm impressed. Outstanding value.

I only bought this as it was so inexpensive and lays relatively flat compared to my last doormat that prevented my screen door from closing. It's not great but it's not bad. It does catch some debris that ends up in my shoes, but I definitely wouldn't say your home will be completely clean even if you're diligent about scraping your shoes off before heading inside.
