My legacy
My 13 year old animal loving granddaughter adores James Herriot ‘s stories so much so that she shyly asked “ May I have the Herriot stories when you die?” That’s a 5 star review if ever I heard one.

Different cover
The book I received was not the same cover as the one in the illustration. Still a very good read from an excellent author and veterinarian.

Even though I already have a complete collection of his stories this was a great addition because of the illustrations, photos and a wealth of sidenotes.

Yorkshire!
A great book about the life a Vet had in the days gone by in Dales of Yorkshire...…...a great read to bedtime stories for 6 or up children or to read to people in a retirement care home. Never got old rereading it many times.

Your bookcase needs a copy.
I grew up with this exact book and when I moved to the UK I gave my copy away as a gift and to cut down on luggage, thinking I could grab another at a charity shop someday. Not so easy in lockdown and I really missed being able to just read these funny, moving stories at will. Glad to find it for under £5 and delivered so fast. No dust jacket but what's inside is more important. Especially nice now that I have visited these places in person. The photo sections, I appreciate more as an adult. They and the margin info make this compilation a real treasure for any animal loving house.
