I HAVE TESTED THIS PRODUCT, BEFORE WRAPPING FOR CHRISTMAS, TO FIND THE SOUND AND LIGHT SEQUENCE WORKS FINE. BUT WHEN CHARGING OVERNIGHT, USING MY OLD PHONE CHARGER ( NOT INCLUDED), THE LIGHT DID NOT CHANGE COLOUR WHEN CHARGING WAS COMPLETED. ITS MEANT TO GO FROM ORANGE TO BLUE, BUT STAID ORANGE. I TRIED AN APPLE 5C CHARGER AND AGAIN NO CHANGE, WHEN CHARGE TIME IS 3.5 HOURS. ONLY A USB CABLE IS INCLUDED IN THE PACK, FOR CHARGING, WERE IT ASSUMES YOU WILL CHARGE FROM THE COMPUTER. ALSO A HAND STRAP AND AN AUDIO / HEADPHONE LEAD.

The given product dimensions were 12.6x12.6x6 cm but that are the dimensions of the box. The speaker is much smaller and measures 9x9x4.6, so in volume about 2.5 times smaller then expected. The sound is okay for such a small speaker but nothing special and far lesser then expected.The flashing light system is cool especially the first two modes. It is water resistant, so you can use it in the bathroom or at the beach. Nice very little speaker if you can buy it cheap.

Did not work - would not charge or connect wirelessly, have returned and will see if replacement works, Dissapointed daughter as it was a Christmas present.

Excellent little speaker, bought as a gift at Christmas.. Fills a small room with a rich and clear sound, sons loves it.

I had seen these colourful speakers around and thought they were quite neat. I didn't want to spend over £100 for the JBL Pulse, so when I saw the Sonar, it seemed like a sweet deal.It came in smart packaging with a flap on the front to open up and give you a view of the product and the light modes that you could play with. The box contents were a user manual (Do not throw away! you may need it!), standard micro USB charge cable, wrist strap, Aux to aux if you do not want to play via bluetooth and of course the Sonar itself!The idea of having lights dancing whilst listening to music might sound pretty tacky, but it is actually quite neat. You do not have to have the lights on if you are not in the mood, but its a good little speaker to have a rave in your room with a live light show too!There are 5 light modes:Bass Bar: A Horizontal bar that goes up and down and changes colour to the bassEQ Mode (best mode): 4 Vertical bars that react to the different ranges of sound, giving a really cool dancing effect with any song!Full Colour fade: Lots of multiple colours changing continuously.Disco Squares: Similar to the full colour fade, but has larger squares changing colours.Chase: A continuous flow of colours.The bass bar and EQ mode are probably the best modes because they react to the music and are surprisingly mesmerising! I have found it therapeutic just sitting there listening to music and staring at the dancing lights.It has two skip/back buttons and also a pause/play button, meaning you do not have to touch your phone to shuffle and pause/play your music.It is definitely not the loudest speaker, but for your room or chilling in the lounge, it is more then enough! I really love this little speaker. I’ve been looking for an alternative to my old Dell computer speakers for a while now and wanted something that takes up less desk space with minimal wires.Setting up the Sonar was easy peasy. All I needed to do was turn on the speaker and pair it to my computer and then I was connected instantly. The Sonar comes with an AUX cable and a USB cable so you do get the choice of manually plugging it in to play music if you don’t have a device with Bluetooth. The only negative I have about the Sonar is that the USB/AUX cables it comes with are quite short, which means that when I charge the speaker on my computer there isn’t really anywhere I can put it down on other than the floor. However, this isn’t really an issue at all as I can just use a spare USB cable (with Micro USB ending) that I have lying around.Hands down the best part of the Sonar is the light displays. As soon as you turn the Sonar on you’re treated to a colourful medley of LED pixels. A real feast for the eyes. There are quite a few different display options ranging from my favourite that reacts to the music being played by changing colour and speed, to a colourful checked display which strangely makes me reminiscent of old Battenberg cake.Another point worth mentioning is that the Sonar is a really nice size. I thought that before buying it small speakers like this would really compromise on sound quality and volume, but actually it gives the same volume as my Dell duo desktop speakers and really rivals the audio quality as well. When playing constantly I got about 4 ½ - 5 hours of playback time before the speaker ran out of battery which I think is a decent amount, and you are also able to still play music whilst it’s charging so there’s no real need for the speaker to die unless you take it outdoors.The Sonar also has NFC pairing but unfortunately I don’t have a phone compatible with it so can’t use this extra add on. However, my iPhone 4 and my sister’s Samsung Galaxy have no issues when pairing with the speaker so I don’t mind too much that I don’t get to use the fun looking NFC .The last feature I want to mention is the call handling function. I’ve never actually had a device (other than my phone) that has this so I was quite keen to test it out. Finally! I can act like I’m in an American Rom Com and prance around my room whilst talking to friends through the speaker/in built mic. The audio quality is brilliant, I can be speaking from about 10 foot away and still have great clarity between myself and the caller. This really is a useful function if you want to get on and do things in the evening but also want to have a long conversation on the phone. No more tired arms, sore ears, and cold fingers.Overall I’m very happy with this speaker; it sounds great and looks fantastic.
