Product Description With a heart that won't quit, a stomach that won't stop gurgling and a self-sworn oath to protect his turf, he's Paul Blart: Mall Cop. Mild-mannered Paul Blart (Kevin James, "The King of Queens") has always had huge dreams of becoming a State Trooper. Until then, he patrols the local mall as a security guard. With his closely cropped moustache, personal transporter and gung-ho attitude, only Blart seems to take his job seriously. All that changes when a team of thugs raids the mall and takes hostages. Untrained, unarmed and a super-size target, Blart has to become a real cop to save the day. From .co.uk Attention, shoppers: Former King of Queens star Kevin James makes the successful leap to big screen leading man with this Die Hard meets Home Alone slapstick comedy produced by Adam Sandler. In his most empathetic role since his endearing scene-stealing turn in Hitch, James (who also co-wrote the script) stars as biggest loser Paul Blart, a 10-year veteran of the West Orange, New Jersey shopping mall, where he gets no respect from taunting kids who pelt him with ball pit orbs, or a senior who brazenly violates Bart's strictly enforced speed limit in his motorized wheelchair. The film is slow to get rolling as it lays on the pathos as thick as the peanut butter the lonely, overweight and socially awkward Blart spreads on his pies ("Food fills the cracks in he heart", he tells his mother). But then, a band of cycling, skateboarding thieves presumably recruited from the X games take over the mall on so-called Black Friday, the busiest holiday season shopping day. Blart is "untrained, unarmed, and presents a huge target", but, like a plus-size John McClane on a Segway, he is the wild card determined to stop them and rescue his unrequited crush (Jayma Mays) who has been taken hostage. James carries the film on his massive shoulders (the supporting cast is strictly discount outlet, with comedian Adam Ferrara as a sympathetic cop and Bobby Cannavale from Will & Grace and Third Watch as a bullying SWAT team leader the most familiar faces). He proves himself to be an impressively agile physical comedian and he's game for every body slam, pratfall and tumble. Rated PG for mild violence, a few profanities, and a couple of gross-out gags, Paul Blart: Mall Cop is less crude than previous Sandler productions, more The Benchwarmers than Deuce Bigalow. --Donald Liebenson, .com

Haha fun film with lots of comedy charm
First time I saw this, I took my nephew to see it at the cinema. I enjoyed it a lot then (with some surprise ...). So I bought it on Blu-ray recently and watched it again. I liked it just as much as the first time and there is a hidden charm to this which I think is with the well thought out characters, and the brilliant Kevin James. I think there is a sense of familiarity and even domesticity about it being in a shopping mall, something familiar to most people these days, seen from the point of view of those who work there, which is slightly different to other Mall based films I can mention (but don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed some of those too). If you want a film that you can easily enjoy, and also watch again and again when the mood takes you, this is excellent and also super value for money given it's on Blu-ray.

Kevin James makes another hit...
This film really is a gem - in a world where comedies have to be raunchy to be "funny", this film is an exception: it's funny without all the swearing and sex jokes that litter the supposed "comedies" nowadays. Judd Apatow, I'm looking at you. I don't mind those sorts of films, it's just that comedies seem to be aimed at either kids or adults, with no middle ground. This film reminded me of something John Candy would make back in the '80s, Uncle Buck and the like, comedies suitable for the whole family. I'd be happy letting anyone watching this, there's nothing unsuitable in it, and a bonus is that it's hilarious.N.B. Make sure to stay watching during the credits, or you'll miss the resolve of the ending.

Average feelgood comedy
I bought this move mostly because the price was very good and I have not seen the movie. The story is about failed police aspirant Paul Blart who, after failing tests due to his hypoglycemia is forced to work as a mall cop. The mall is raided by the standard gang of bad guys, Paul saves the day and gets the girl.Apart from being predictable and suffering from so-and-so acting, the story is warm and good enough to warrant watching the movie to the end.If you find this movie on sale and don't mind watching a standard comedy, by all means go ahead.

Cheesy but entertaining
Possibly one of the cheesiest films ever made but in say day afternoon with the family on the sofa and a bag of popcorn you can't go wrong. A plot so simple and predictable even I understood it but a few laugh out loud moments never the less. If you want a classic for your collection don't buy it but if you want a laugh for a few pounds this is ideal

Mall Cop, what a concept
Good, silly, slap-stick, dumb-ass stuff. I liked this film quite a lot. It has the usual American 'message in a film' about morals and so on, as most do these days. This does not detract from the fact there are some funny moments. I am glad I didn't go to the cinema to watch it, but it's fun nontheless. No problems with delivery or quality of DVD.

Not bad.
Not a bad film, it wasn't as funny as the trailer, some pieces seem to have been left out the film that were shown in the trailer, not sure why but it let it down somewhat. Overall it's not bad, worth a watch I guess but I don't think it'd say this is hilarious.
