Why are there a black and a yellow? Why not two of the same color?

For visibility at night. You can see the yellow better.

I have an arched curb from street to sidewalk then onto my driveway, will these work on a non traditional curb?

I purchased these for a 6 inch curb and hoped that they would work for a class A RV to get up on the curb. They worked fine even though they are not 6" high

can these be connected to each other to make them wider?

You can place them side by side but there are no connections to make them one piece

I plan to use these for squat block ramp, do you think that it will work for that?

If you mean weightlifting squats, I don't see why not. They're durable enough to handle the weight and stable enough to do squats.
