Strength and Support
A brilliant item, well worth the investment. Great of you need the back support. Can also start to build up that core strength whilst working. Get a laptop table to go with it.

I've borrowed my co workers Gaiam Balance Ball Chair when she's been out of the office. I just loved it immediately, less back paid, less pressure on my legs and helped with my posture. I just had to get one for myself. It arrived today!!! Like a kid on Christmas I tossed my old uncomfortable office chair to the side and immediately put this together. I like the pop of color the green has....so that's about all the positives I can give. Assemble of the chair was very quick and simple. Inflating the ball however, with that ridiculous pump thing, I had to go into a conference room to put air in it. (just not appropriate to do while sitting at your office desk) The ball.....the ball is inflated to the max I didn't want to pop it. I placed it in the chair and it was like dropping a beach ball into it. This ball is SOOOOOO freaking small when I sat on it I could just about sit Indian Style on the floor!! I'm 5'10 about 150lbs. I immediately rolled it to the side and grabbed my neighbors ball and I'm sitting here typing this review in comfort. UPDATE 6/9/15: okay so I called Gaiam customer service about replacing the ball and was told to just give it a couple days to expand to it's full size. So today (day two) I came in and inflated more.....to my SURPRISE it's not perfect IT"S BETTER. I'm high yet still able to lean back on the back rest comfortably. This goes from 2 stars to 5 in my book. I couldn't believe it. If you think its to small on the initial opening let it sit in a warm space over night and then add more air......you'll be pleasantly surprised. Everyone at work is taking triple looks at my comfy, supportive, fun colored, new office chair! Love it. They should put a disclaimer in the description so people know what to expect. would have been helpful for me. Considering it? Go for it!!! Since I had it shipped to the office I don't know if I should return all of it or go in search of an adult sized ball. I did some digging and I see there are different sized balls on Amazon sold separately for 19.99. Seriously?! How do I just exchange the ball?! Hello, AMAZON? Anyone out there? I've spent allot of money on this site at least deliver the items pictured. The lady in the picture isn't squatting on the floor she's at desk level.

So, yes...the ball starts out way too small. But as the other reviews, and the directions in the packing, mention - you HAVE to give the ball time to stretch. After initial inflation, the ball was still small enough to slip through the bottom to the floor! But now it's fully inflated and fits perfectly. I won't say what everyone else has already said about benefits, but there is one thing I want to mention. Correct posture like this helps with breathing - if you ever find yourself feeling a little short on air even though you've only been sitting, that's because your posture has made it so that you can't breath comfortably. That's the problem I've been suffering, but I brought this chair to work, and at the end of the day I don't feel like I've been breathing into a paperbag all day. Definitely worth every penny.

Love this chair, has helped with the usual aches and pains that come from sitting for hours on a normal office chair.

I purposely too my time to review this product, I wanted a Ball Chair for 3-4 years but could not afford it until I saw it dropped to under $90. I jumped on this deal so fast! I have suffered from lower back pain for 15 years as I have worked a desk job since 1999. I picked up a kneeling chair for work and this Ball Chair for my office at home, within two weeks my back pain was mostly gone! 15 years of back pain and all it took was better office chairs, wow! Assembly was unbelievably easy but after trying to inflate the ball for 10 minutes, my arm got tired so I grabbed my electric air mattress pump but it still took 15 minutes to inflate. Let me tell you, this is the most comfortable chair to sit on! It took a couple days to get used to the low back support but I couldn't be happier.

Like many people, I hate the chairs at my job. They are supposedly ergonomic and all that mesh is supposed to be great, but in truth, they stink. I had heard about these chairs from a friend. Given the great price, I figured I had very little to lose in giving them a try and hopefully, much to gain. I bought the first one and kept it at home, thinking I would test it to see if it was a go. Like others have commented, it didn't blow up completely at first and looked like this itty bitty ball on a short chair pedestal. And it was hard. I was prepared to be disappointed but I left it alone for a couple of days. It had relaxed some and softened, so I pumped it up a bit more and set about playing my XBox 360 games. After a few hours of that I was in love with the chair. Here's what changed my mind. When playing games...and I'm a middle aged woman...I often feel trapped by the couch or recliner and get tense. With this chair you can move about a bit and even roll some. It works to break that tension without disrupting the game. You can also stretch your muscles extremely effectively between segments of games and that works just as well when watching TV. It rolls, so you can tuck it away in the corner easily and it's quite sturdy to boot! After a couple of more weeks of adjusting the ball as it relaxed more, I finally had it pumped up to a size I felt was maximum and it is still nice and bouncy without being hard. It's perfect. But instead of taking it to work, I decided I really couldn't do without it at home and decided to buy another one. This time I went with Blue for work and left the Green one at home. And here I found something interesting. It is taking FAR longer for this blue one to fully relax than it did the green one, despite the fact that I use this one about 10 hours a day for 5 days a week. I'm not sure what that's all about, but it may play a factor in some of the other reviews. Perhaps some of the others have enough variation in them that they have different break in times. Aside from being about 2 inches less in diameter and not yet fully relaxed, this one is still noticeably harder too. Even with that, it is still far more comfortable than my previous chair. No more numb legs from the circulation being cut off or that strange feeling in the knees from bending my legs so far back underneath the chair for me. And yes, it does take a bit of getting used to with the improvements in posture, but it is great for the back and neck strain once you do. I can't recommend this highly enough! I'd give it a five but it lost a star due to the inconsistancy in ball relaxation in the two chairs.
