Light in weight but still effective
I got this to split logs for my wood burner, it’s nice and light but the weight in the head is still such that it can easily split logs - I’ve used it on logs up to about 10” in diameter. The size an weight means that I still have the ability to control the axe to safely split wood down to kindling size - highly recommended.

Excellent Axe
Although I have returned it, I want to point out that this Fiskars X17 is an excellent axe. - I returned it only because I decided that I needed a longer Fiskars axe for the particular job I had in mind (which I have in the meantime purchased). It is worth noting that the X17 axe are stated to be suitable for medium-sized logs (20-30cm diameter), while the longer X25 and X27 axes are suitable for larger logs (of over 30cm diameter), which my new X27 splits comfortably with one blow.

Great axe....
I have a maul and a little axe this was the perfect addition. Light in weight. I can swing all day and not get tired. You can get a really fast and accurate swing. Very efficient. I love it .

Well Made
Excellent quality product. Chops my Ash and Oak logs no problem, though It depends on how much effort you put in to the swing of course. With myself it normally takes two goes to completely split the log.

It's a good quality product, but it's covered in paint
It's a good quality product, but the blade is painted with silver paint that transfers to the wood you are chopping. Most paints are made of plastic so using that wood to cook food is not OK. I had to buy another axe that is not pointlessly painted.

Value for money
Great axe but I wish I'd bought the 72 inch handle. My other half complains that it's too short for him to get a good swing but it does perform very well.
