I recently received some filters for free not knowing that my current filtration system was inadequate and only 10 in high. I purchased this to utilize the filters that I had previously received.Installation was easy, If any plumbing insulation is actually easy. Anyone who buys this will need the proper fittings to connect it to there plumbing system. I like the 1-in inlet and outlet, which I adapted to my 3/4 in copper. There will always be an adequate supply with a larger filter medium than a 10-in filter. I didn't expect any fittings to be included so had to hop to the local hardware store to pick up the proper adapters for my system. No leaks everything's perfect.

We've ordered 2 of these housings before and they worked great! Unfortunately this 3rd one we got leaked at the pressure relieve button after everything was installed. It was a quick fix but taking everything apart to tighten the screw inside the housing was just troublesome. The screw is located opposite the red button and can be adjusted with a Phillips head screwdriver. Other than this problem the housing is working perfectly.

Ordered 4 of these filter housings: two in 10" length and two in 20" length. All four of them leaked AROUND the brass inserts, one of them absolutely streaming out. Used the right amount of high quality teflon tape and did not over-tighten. I have since been educated by a commercial/industrial plumber and have learned that the brass inserts in filter housings like this are MARKETING WANK and actually make the filter housing MUCH WEAKER. You should NEVER buy housings with those inserts. High-end made-in-USA filter housings such as those made by US Water Systems DO NOT use brass inserts and they never leak.All of these Chinese-made housings come from the exact same factory which is why those stupid inserts have become ubiquitous. Low-information civilians like me see the brass and think "ooo, brass is better than plastic!" so all the Chinese sellers have switched to the inserts even though they are HIGHLY prone to leaking, much more than just plain plastic threads.AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Your best bet is to buy filter housings from a domestic producer like US Water Systems, but if you just absolutely cannot afford the quality then look VERY hard for some older style Chinese filter housings that still have the plastic NPT threads instead of the brass inserts. They are getting hard to find, but they are still out there.
