I actually did get stronger...
Before working as an EMT, I bought this forearm trainer to strengthen my grip on my left hand (since the lever is on the left side of the stretcher). I knew I needed it because while in training school, I struggled tremendously to squeeze the lever. After exercising with this product for a few weeks, I improved my grip quite a bit! I applied for an EMT career, and during the application process, I had to lift the stretcher. I was able to squeeze the lever no problem. The product works, at least for me.If you have tiny hands, get something else because you might struggle. This thing is larger than the palm of my hand. Thank God I have long fingers!! Without my long fingers, I probably wouldn't be able to squeeze it.It is really stiff, and you'd really have to squeeze hard... really really hard, or this thing will not budge... But I guess the more you work on it, the better your grip will become, ergo the purpose of this product. You can also dunk this in soapy water to clean it without damage to the product.5/5 stars for fulfilling its purpose, although people with small hands may struggle.

Perfect little training/rehab tool
I've been climbing for over ten years, and this is my favorite little training gadget. I don't really want to sit around twirling one of those loud gyroscopes at work - in fact, I find them pretty obnoxious to operate. This simple, easily packable little guy is a perfect tool for rehabbing weak/injured tendons, for warming up on the way to the crag, or for squeezing absent-mindedly while you watch TV/read/work. I like that it's low-key enough that you can bust it out at school, or in a meeting, and people aren't going to assume you're a meathead the way they would if you used other grip trainers. It's light, and you can clean it in the sink. About 10lbs of pressure (I emailed BD and got this number from them). The one downside is that it kind of resembles a sex toy/baby toy/dog toy/nuva ring. If that's not a deal breaker for you (it shouldn't be), you'll love this little guy.

Nice to use but not as lasting.
I think this product has to be reviewed as a comparison to your typical handle style grip exercisers. Having used both for a while now I see one benefit and one disadvantage. The advantage of this product is that it is much easier to use without digging into your hands. I find that the handle grippers strong enough for me to use as an exercise really dig into my hands/fingers and can hurt. Im sure this could be solved with gloves or whatever or with one that has a padded handle. This circular one is completely comfortable for me.The disadvantage is that after using it for a while I think it is slightly less springy and offers a small amount less resistance than it did when it was new. It's not a big deal but I wonder if it will become even less resistant over more time.

Pretty good
It definitely helps build up your forearm muscles. I didn't have any trouble with the edges like some of the other people had mentioned in the other ratings. My only issue with it was that it lost a lot of resistances within about five days of use. I know prior to using it that I didn't have Zeus like forearms, so resistance loss wasn't because I blew it out with uber strength. It still works really well but I just have to do a lot more reps to feel the results. All in all I would buy it again because the price was fair and it does work.

A must for every gym bag!
This is one of the best forearm trainers that I've ever used. It is made out of thick rubber and has good grip to it, although the surface is smooth. It is very stain, sweat and odor proof. Being a small donut shape, you can tie it or lanyard it easily to a bag.The resistance on it is decent... easy enough for beginners and still challenging enough for strong guys (doing holds and high reps). You can also work on individual finger strength!I have had it for some time now and there is no visible signs of wear or tear. When new, there is a slight plastic/rubber smell on it, but it's not bad and goes away after several uses or washes.A must for every gym bag!

I love this Forearm Trainer.
Okay, first of all.. It's blue. I love blue. That's a big plus, second of all I carry this thing all over the place and squeeze the ever-living-!@#$ out of it until I can't feel my forearms anymore. That means it's working, good. But, it feels good in the hand and it's not easy enough to manipulate that it won't help, but just right so you can squeeze through those repetitions. Well made, fast shipping, inexpensive.. Buy it if you want something like this! Oh, and I love it for long car rides through LA traffic, whenever that is necessary.. Wish I never had to go through that again, oh well.. I've got my Black Diamond Forearm Trainer to help along the way.. And some good vibes too of course. :)

It's just okay.
I would prefer more tension. You have to squeeze this device many times to get a workout because the tension is so low. I would prefer a much more firm, harder to squeeze ring. Perhaps if you had smaller, or weaker hands, this might be okay for you.I am a 5' 10" man of about 180 lbs. I recently had surgery that limited my strenght severly and even before getting my hand strenght back, I could probably squeeze this 40 or 50 times...Perhaps this is a good step device if you could get different rings with disimilar levels of firmness, or tention. It is rather boring, and tedious to tell you the truth.I like my Gryo Spinner I bought much better. It is more fun, and gives a better workout much quicker.

Not without drawbacks, but I like having this at my desk
This ring is great for relieving stress and exercising the grip at work. The seam that runs around the outer circumference is irritatingly high, so I ended up shaving it off with a cutter. Also, after two weeks I noticed minute rubber particles starting to rub off on my hands, so I wrapped the ring up in an old sock. Problem solved. Despite these drawbacks, I enjoy playing with this ring and would probably buy another.
