Multiple People Having Issues With Motherboard
Got this computer buying all the good reviews. 6 months in I had motherboard issues. Luckily I was under warranty, so they repaired it for me, but a couple days ago my computer crapped out with the same. Exact. Issue. And thing is I looked at forums and found out that multiple other people are having this issue where the motherboard just dies every half year or so. I purchased the 3 year extended warranty and accident protection and for the past two days have been trying to get them to repair this computer that I use for work. I have lost out on $5k because of not being able to finish my work on time because of this computer dying and they're dragging their feet on honoring a warranty I paid an extra $200.99 to have. I've had someone from their support team confirm today after two days of being transferred around with them that my warranty should be valid but isn't showing up on the website. He said he's run into this issue before and he can fix it but it's going to take another 48 hours to show up on the site and only then can I call support back to then have them mail me a box, wait for it to arrive, mail my computer in, wait for it to get there, wait for them to replace it, then wait for it to get mailed back. This has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a laptop and the worst part is it's a design flaw so even when they do replace my motherboard AGAIN I will more than likely be running into the same issue in the future and eventually I'll run into it when my warranty truly is expired. So this has been an awful, undeserved headache and an experience so awful with their customer service that I will never purchase anything HP ever again. I even found an article about how so many people had issues with Omen computers there was a class action lawsuit in 2023. Then I found another article about how many people have had issues with HP not honoring their warranty. I was very persistent and spend hours just getting them to admit my warranty is legit and that's with me having the screenshot of the receipt that includes the computer and the warranty that I purchased straight from hp's site. How many people just eat the $1.5k cost of the computer and give up because HP is so awful? This computer is absolutely horrendous. It worked amazingly when it worked, and then it didn't work at all. Twice. Terrible value for the money to buy something that only has a 1 year warranty but will be crapping out in 6 months because of a manufacturing problem that cannot be truly repaired. I am so sad I purchased this computer and I hope this review saves someone else from the same issues I have been experiencing. I will be purchasing a Lenovo instead because even after this computer is repaired there is no way I will be relying on it for my work ever again. Weeks of work just completely lost and now even more time lost to not having a computer that works and the company dragging their feet as long as they can. Please save yourself the headache and purchase something that will be good for more than just a few months at a time.
