5" Low Profile Convection Heater with Remote, WHLP0012

I saw these in the summer and thought ahead that they would work great as an extra source of heat in the winter and the price was really inexpensive. So, when they first arrived, of course I plugged one in and it seemed to work fine. I put them away to use later. So when the time came to use them, the first one I put in my bedroom. I turned it on and it worked fine. Of course I shut it off later in the evening and when I went to turn it back on the next morning, nothing, no lights, no beeps no control panel life. It did not work. Of course it was many months since I had purchased this and the window for returns was over, so that was the end of that one. I pulled out the second unit and it seemed to work fine. I used this heater for only about 2 - 3 weeks or so. Then it just stopped heating. This one still had its' lights on, the control panel seemed to respond to the buttons, but no heat. So there goes $30 down the drain. I guess I should learn that I get what I pay for and I am guessing that these were marked down so cheaply because they are a POS and this would be a way to get rid of unwanted stock to someone like me. I fell for it, don't you.

First order was dead on arrival. Would not turn on at all. Returned for second unit. Both units appeared new in original box from Westinghouse.Second unit. Fired right up. Ran it through it's paces. Seems to work fine.Please note that this unit sells for $140 normally through Sears and is one heck of a steal - if - you can get one that works.Range on the remote is about 12 feet, which is more than adequate. The unit itself weights almost nothing. Several pounds at most. The cord on it is 6 feet in length. The unit's LED lights are quite bright but the unit itself does not glow at all, even on high.Unit makes virtually no noise when in operation, which is good for sleepers. Just a very faint click when it cycles on and off. However, any changes made to settings results in a loud BEEP. The only silent way to shut the unit off is with the side switch.I'm quite pleased on day 1 - 4/26/18

Do you ever wonder what actually happens when products are tested in real world conditions or with test audiences?This has the most obnoxious beep whenever you press any buttons AND at the end of the auto shut off periods. Are you sleeping soundly 4 or 8 hours later in your warm room. BEEEEEEEEEEEP. Not any more!I'll give it this: my Lasko died pretty quickly, but this one is truckin' along just fine.

Just got it today. Heater seems to work fine. Remote is nice feature. I ordered this item twice. 1st time it came... it was an obvious repackage of a USED item (fingerprints, box had been re-taped, etc). 2nd time it was basically the same situation (fingerprints, box re-tape, & appeared USED). Keeping it for now. Seems to work fine... will update review later.

I bought this heater for my office as it is cold in there but when it started to get cold recently I only got a chance to use this heater 3 times and now it is not working.

It works pretty good. I just wish that I didn't have to hit temp for it to produce heat if I don't have the timer set.

It worked for ten minutes and then started giving me problems. It kept cycling (blinking) through the all the buttons on the unit and I had to unplug it, wait an few minutes, and plug it back in before it would let me select an option again. Every time I try using it will randomly just shut off and give a big *BEEP!* that either wakes me up or startles the living daylights out of me. NOT happy with this purchase at all!! Do not recommend.

This item is fairly annoying. The instructions do not give enough info. The machine design makes it automatically shutoff every few minutes. While more inexpensive heaters operate continuously.I wouldn't advise purchasing one .
