Thermaltake Core P1 Mini ITX Tempered Glass Edition Wall Mounted Computer Chassis - Black

Bought this case for building a new watercooling rig.Packaging:Very compact, minimal packaging, well secured by polystyrene. Perspex front protected on both sides by some for of gumstrip, also surrounded by polystyrene in box. Would personally like the box to fit the whole case once constructed for travel purposes, but thats personal preference; I appreciate the minimal packaging.First impressions:Unpacking the case, screw bags, and case peripherals, I had one thought. Daunting. There is a huge array of kit that comes with this tower, working out correct order of build was a worry, although instructions soon cleared that up. My second thought was: This. Is. Heavy. It may look like a lightweight tower due to being a board. It is not.Assembly:Assembly is a long process compared to many towers. Instructions were clear, with great images and description of how to mount and common component, from PSU and varying motherboard supplies all the way to SSDs and Radiators, but set aside your day to build a rig on this, an hour or so for your first assembly will likely not suffice. There are plenty of screw holes available in any location you'd care to place anything. HDDs or SSDs can be hidden away nicely inside the board, although there is room for 1 easily mountable to the right of the Mobo. I haven't tested the wall mount feature on the case, although suffice to say that if it performs well, this is a fantastic feature.Additional thoughts:This case is of course not meant for the casual pc user, or builder. Its an enthusiast case at a very affordable price. If you want to go for this case, plan your build around it, measure up, and be prepared for a long build. It's a beautiful piece of kit that was a joy to assemble with, and creates a really fantastic unique display with a good build and design.Bottom line:If you've built before and want to adventure further, particularly if you are looking into watercooling, buy this case. If you are building your first pc, this is not for you, you won't need the features this offers

This is a great case, it is also a huge case.Is it easy to put together? For the most part, yes. Tidiness matters with this case as almost everything is on show. That of course is the point of it.Is it as flexible as it looks? Again for the most part, yes. This is mainly designed for custom cooling loops but with a little bit of forethought you can make most things work.Make sure you have straight SATA cables, no I really mean it, the ones with 90 degree bends are almost impossible to fit and have the HDD bolted down. I spent a while tracking down two in various PCs in the house during my build. This took my build time to 5 hours. I was also trying to be tidy and decide where I want things to be. Or I should say where the best compromise is as to where I want them.Minor disappointments on the AIO cooling fitting - most of them will not fit straight out of the box. There will be a bracket to fix this minor oversight but it is just a case of waiting for its release in the UK. My AIO is kind of wedged in place.Airflow: you may well lose some over more conventional cases but it is minimal.Noise: there is no denying that some builds will be a tiny bit noisier in the case, it is after all open frame but again this is minimal.Everything included: you get a pretty comprehensive bags of screws and fittings.Looks: at this price point it is hard to find a more attractive open frame / non-conventional case. It is like having a PC for a show roomUpdate 18/06/16OK had this for a couple of months and there are a few issues.1) The pcie riser for the graphics card refused to work after changing motherboards. Sent it back to Thermaltake Germany at my cost.Replacement arrives and lasts 1 boot before it failed too. Their customer service is awful getting no replies from email is really bad. There is no UK presence bar a facebook place. I guess I may have to buy a riser that actually WORKS from somewhere else - Not good.I have talked to or emailed lots of customer services over my life and thermaltake are down at the bottom.2) The finish has started falling off and cracking away in places, this is due to the price point and decisions that TT made to get it there I am guessing. I have brought this up with them and guess what - Silence. I would send the whole thing back but I am slightly invested having mounted it on the wall and adding trunking for the cable.3) I would now only buy a case like this if I had plans to say goodbye to the warranty and paint the whole thing again.Update #2I managed to get some contact with their support side and they sent out (at their cost) a new cable which the post system broke. Then they sent another one which worked for a day.I have been doing some research and it seems that the riser works fine with 95% of set-ups but their are set-ups that the cable will not work with.Most notable some 980ti, titan and the new 1070 and 1080 respectably. Hopefully they will redesign it and soon a version 3 will rectify this.

One of the only towers capable of housing my 420 radiator and water-cooling, also has a wonderful vesa mount, I get to marvel everyday at this wonderful case. Not the most user friendly case but once the build is finished you can just lay back and admire. Have the tempered glass, really worth it. Next case will be horizontally mounted because of the weight of GPUs. That is the only weekness of the tower.
