Tobar Magic Growing Garden Crystal Activity Kit

I love this crystal garden and have bought them before. Like many others are saying, it's not the easiest to get all the cardboard pieces to sit right in the plastic tray initially. I managed to do it without any tape but had to bend things into the right shape to do it. When you've got it sitting right and applied the liquid, it's great fun watching it grow over the next few hours. Mine reached its final form after about 8 hours but I guess it depends on room temp, humidity etc. Once grown the crystals seem to remain in place indefinitely if undisturbed, but they are very fragile and will fall off the trees and garden if moved quickly or knocked accidently. So make sure you set this up in a place where it can remain undisturbed. The initial trickiness in setting up doesn't warrant any penalty on the star rating, since it's so fast to grow. It looks so good after growing that you could probably use as an ornament for a while!

Fiddly to start, I had to tape all the cardboard parts down as they just kept popping out, but worked better than I expected it to once the solution was added. Newer, slightly different design to that pictured on product page. Happy with the results.

Arrived promptly. Looks good but not opened yet as it’s a Christmas gift for granddaughter.

I used to get these as a child. The colours are far less vibrant than I remember, not like the pictures and as others have said the piece's don't fit the tray securely. I had to cut them to fit. Still a fun and inexpensive activity though I suppose

Very easy to do. Kids loved it. Manage to grow this garden within approx 4hrs - quick enough to keep kids interest. Nice little stocking filler.

Overall I was really impressed with the customer service I received from "Great gifts and Toys". I'm always a little bit nervous about ordering through the Amazon marketplace (no bad experiences - just an irrational fear). However, the delivery was very quick (I placed my order around 11am on a Thursday and it had arrived by the time I got back from work the next day). Also, the seller included a note offering a discount on future purchases and providing me with their contact details in the event of any problems with the toy. The toy itself is really fun (I had one 8 years ago as a birthday present and loved it). It's not exactly educational but might inspire kids to look into how it's done. One tip is to make sure the garden is out of the way of any drafts as a particularly strong gust did knock off some of the crystals off my tree. In a similar vein, make sure that the cardboard bits are securely inserted into the base before adding the solution.

The base is very flimsy plastic and the instructions aren’t the best however it is easy enough to do. My daughter absolutely loves it but as you can see in the picture when we tried moving it one of the trees fell down and lost its ‘crystals’ it takes a good couple of hours (overnight plus) to get all the ‘crystals’ formed but the joy it beings was worth the frustration of setting it up ajs pieces falling off etc

Worked really well. Only criticism is the card shapes did have a tendancy to pop out of the tray as others have said. A bit of sellotape sorted that out and didn't appear to stop the crystals working. Only thing is the pink crystals stain! These are soft crystals rather than hard ones you can pick up. After three weeks with it looking almost as good as the day we made it (very impressed by that) I accidentally knocked it and some of the pink trees fell off onto the windowsill. If you wipe it with a wet cloth the crystals dissolve immediately, but left a pink stain on the windowsill! To be fair it came off with a squirt of kitchen cleaner and a few hard rubs, but it's worth know... So be careful of fabrics as it might well stain those too...

Couldnt get the item to stand in the tray.

Jeu tres sympa. La pousse est rapide et cela peut durer 6 moins si bien protégé. Par contre attention les arbres en carton ont tendance a tomber. Leurs pieds pourraient etre plus stable.

The product came missing pieces- like half the tree and several pieces of grass. None of the pieces of cardboard fit the plastic base so it wouldn't stay upright.

Meinem Sohn hat der Magischer Kristall-Garten sehr gefallen. Die Kristalle fangen an schon in ca. eine Stunde zu wachsen und es ist sehr interessant das alles zu beobachten. Ein paar Tipps: 1. Besser zuerst mit dem Heißkleber alle Papierteile zum Basis zu befestigen. 2. Ich würde die Lösung am Morgen hinzugeben - sodass das Kind den ganzen Tag den Wachstum der Kristalle beobachten kann, sonst verpasst es alles während des Nachschlafs - am Morgen nächstes Tages werden die Kristalle schon fertig. 3. Die Kristalle sind sehr zerbrechlich - besser den Kristallgarten gleich schon da stellen, wo Sie ihn nicht mehr berühren nachdem die Kristalle fangen an zu wachsen. 4. Fügen Sie mehr Lösung vorne am Berg hinzu, sodass der Berg von der sichtbaren Seite, mit "Schnee" völlig bedeckt ist. Viel Spaß!
