Really Really Good
Really pleased with this purchase. Was bought for an En Suite in our Loft Conversion. Like the ability to discretely install the mixer unit in a cupboard and not needing to be in same location as the controller as per a conventional manual mixer controller. Digital setting of temperature is great and very consistent output. Make sure when planning installation you bear in mind a 3A feed required for the mixer unit. It does not pump or heat the water, purely controls the mixer and wireless connection to the controller. After nearly 6 months I still absolutely recommend without hesitation and no regrets whatsoever.

wireless controller will rust and break after approx 2-3 years and no spares available
installed 2 of these units in flats let out to tenants. After approx 18 months of use ( due void periods ) first one the the other wireless units stopped working. On inspection, water moisture ingress to a cheap plasticcy controller with AA batteries has resulted in the unit rusting inside and now both failed. no replacements available, probably as discontinued and of course the plumbing was 'easy to install' which means difficult to replace with a proper unit that doesnt rely on a battery powered wireless gimmicky connection. I would not intall another of these without either an essential need to use the unit due plumbing requirements or at least buying two spare controllers on initial purchase.

Simple to fit
I bought one of these a couple years ago for myself they really work well and are so easy to fit, I'm also still on the original battery's. I just bought another for my parents they find it so easy to control with variable temp and flow.

Reason for the wireless type for us is our bathroom is tiny and has the stupid 1970's cardboard walls so no depth and really fli
We have been using an electric shower for the past 3 years or so and recently spent a few days away which had a mixer shower so was talked into changing ours to a mixer by her indoors. I had seen the likes of Mira, aqualisa etc but you are talking upward of £350 and stumbled upon this Bristan so for the money thought why not. Reason for the wireless type for us is our bathroom is tiny and has the stupid 1970's cardboard walls so no depth and really flimsy. This just sits under the bath so no big mixer block to fix to the wall. Bristan have scrimped on the fittings though, the head and hose outlet feel like cheap plastic and the hose outlet wasn't suitable again down the the wall thickness so ended up getting https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BL8NXZ4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1All in all the shower gets thumbs up from the rest of the family, its simple to operate and fingers crossed will save me plenty of money on electric bills :)

Appalling noise - even worse support from Bristan
Just don't bother. We had an issue whereby the shower was incredibly noisy.Bristan came out, said it was normal. They sent another engineer out, who blamed the installation/pipework. He told us to change the pipes and left two solenoids for us to change (even though the case says no user serviceable parts). So we followed Bristans advice - changed the pipework, replaced the solenoids - 2 months later the same noise is back with a vengeance. We have now pulled it and changed it for a Mira system which is far nicer.

All in all not a bad shower for the price
I purchased this shower to replace my previous Aqualisa Quartz A1 digital shower which lasted just over 6 years. These are my personal views on this Bristan digital shower when comparing it to my previous one:PROS-Much cheaper than Aqualisa products (also cheaper than fixing an out-of-guarantee Aqualisa shower)-It has a 5-year manufacturer's guarantee as Aqualisa's showers-I can control the water flow which I couldn't do with my previous Aqualisa Quartz-There is a digital temperature display which is more accurate than the Aqualisa temperature regulator-Customer service is as helpful as Aqualisa's oneCONS-The shower pump is much more noisy than Aqualisa's-When you switch on the shower it takes longer to get the desired water temperature (around 30seconds compared to 10seconds with Aqualisa Quartz)-The shower only works if your hot water's temperature is higher than 52 centigrades- You cannot set the temperature lower than 35 centigrades on the shower's digital screen so if you want to have a cold shower you would have to use up all your hot water (if you have a hot water tank) and then have the shower before heating your water again. All in all not a bad shower for the price.
