Cotman Water Colours - 1/2 Pans, Field Box

I love this little travel set. I have an old vintage set from years ago that doesn't have the extra pot and mixing pallets this one has so I always had to carry extra pots.This one so much better as it's got it all in one and folds up neatly and compact so great for space savingThe paint is the usual good student quality from winsor newton and contains the main colours selection used. They give a good background wash with easy to apply to good quality paper. They adhere well and are Perfect for students and beginners. I Also use their professional grade paints as wellThis particular set was very good value

Does what it says on the tinPortable but slightly bulky in terms of width :/ Could probably fit in an empty pocket with some squeezingThe water bottle thing surprisingly holds quite a lot of waterSponge is a very nice touch but is quite large, I had to cut in half and am keeping the other half for whenever this one eventually disintegratesThe paints are slightly grainy but definitely a step up from what I have used before - considering you can switch out the paints whenever you want or need, definitely worth the price!

Such a neat little kit. Handy for travelling with. Good quality and lovely colours. Packs away very neatly.

Compact, lightweight, portable watercolour set. Incredibly easy to use - has everything you need within case - watercolours, brush, pallets, miniature sponge, water pot, and no bigger than a small mobile, slightly chunkier phone. Have used it quite often and can refill paint blocks easily.

Bpight thinking it was the pro version. Expensive for acotman. A nice little set, but I have tube cotman in a smaller pallet so don't use this.

This is a very clever little box and ideal to take when out and about. Very compact and would be good to take on holidays or days out. I bought mine for a gift but would like one for myself.

I bought this primarily for the portable field pocket box, and it has exceeded my expectations! The Cotman watercolors are decent for student-grade paints—they work perfectly for my sketchbook and practice sessions. The box is extremely convenient and easy to transport. In the future, I plan to replace the paints with professional-grade options and customize the palette to my usual colors, but this set is a great starting point.If you're looking for an affordable and portable field pocket box, this is it! I'd been meaning to get the Cotman field kit for a while but the prices were much higher in other stores. As soon as I saw the price on Amazon, I placed the order. I was a little doubtful about the item as there's a newer version now called the Field Pocket Set (previous one is Field Box, as per the official site) and it's almost the same as the Professional set in price. The seller actually got me the newer version at a slightly higher price than the old version in the States, which is completely fine considering shipping.My order was supposed to arrive in 2 and a half weeks as it was being imported from the States but I received it in 1 and a half weeks instead! There was a small issue with the original tracking number and I reached out to Amazon customer support and they got in touch with the seller who updated it.Coming to the actual kit... The exterior is completely white in colour (old kit was navy blue) and I'll probably add some stickers to make it look a bit more attractive. The colours are less pigmented compared to Brustro and Faber-Castell that I've used in the past (I'm guessing the professional ones are different), but they still look rich and wash off easily which is good as there's limited water that one can carry. The bottle that comes in the kit can fill the container completely only once. To swatch the colours, I filled just half of the container and the water was usable even after that.Overall, I think it's a good choice for urban sketching and painting. I still need to paint and experiment and see how it works in the future.
