Powermate VX FS2P Pneumatic 9 Gauge Fencing Stapler

Do not by this product because of availability of 9 gauge staples. I bought this product thinking that I would be able to knock out 1800' of horse fence on my property. The FS2P is actually a really nice product and it looked like what i actually wanted.I called Lowes, Home Depot and 3 lumber and two tool stores and non of them have staple. I never actually got to check the product's quality other than the way is comes.If you think you can by this product and then actually get work done in a short time frame you better plan around the availability of staples and not the product itself.8 gauge is really the new standard for staples and horse fence.

Amazing tool that works. First 20 staples we had hard time finding perfect spot for pressure, probably tool were going through break-in process, and after that, oh man... what a tool. Exceptional. Saved us days of work.

This stapler does in 1 hour what use to take me 5 hours with a fraction of the effort. You must keep the tool lubricated! Oil the slide where the staples set and the ram that shoots the steaples in addition to the tool air supply itself. This makes a huge difference in reliability and prevents the staples from jamming. The only drawback, an one reviewer noted, is the availability of staples. Dewalt staples will not work unless you want to feed them one at a time. They are slightly curved at the barb and will not feed reliability. Freeman Staples are the only brand that I have found that work. I have personally fired over 500 - FS9G175 9-Gauge 1-3/4" Barbed Fencing Staples with no issues. As much as I can tell, you only have two choices --> 1-3/4 or 2" staples.... Not much of a choice but the 1-3/4 are perfect for barbed wire fencing. The manufacture should have been more forthright about this fact but with 2 miles of fence I couldn't be happier!
