What is a pull on closure in men's trunk?

Unfortunately this information has not been provided to us by the manufacturer.

Are these knock offs?

The trunks appear to be genuine. They are made in China, but all the information on the tags indicates they are BOSS. They are incredibly comfortable, with 2 side pockets.
