Very Good product. I was afraid the rods were too short, but they do the job with no problem, and it only take a couple of swipes, and you're done. I love to cook, and this makes preparation so much easier.

Bring your edge back with the coarse rods then polishing with the fine. They take so much time off of sharpening blades.

It sharpens well but the rods don't fit very well.

My son's grandpa used to have a sharpener like this when he was a little boy. He said he was mesmerized watching him sharpen those old knives. He said he wished he was given that sharpener when he passed. Nobody seems to know what happened to it. So when I saw this set I bought it so fast! It was his Christmas gift this year. I can't tell you how moved he was when he opened it. I liked how everything stored in the block and took up very little space. He loves it. Shipped fast. A+

I've used these honing sticks before, so I know they are good for putting a sharpe edge on a knife. I couldn't get the sticks in the pre-drilled holes. Will have to carefully ream the holes until sticks fit.

This is what you need if you have cronic dull knife syndrom. It is not fast so don't think the razor edge is going to magically appear but it is very good. I had a pocket knife that once the blade lost the factor edge I couldn't get a fine edge no matter how many professional knife sharpners I took it to. The secret is a light touch and time. I played with it for a couple of hours then I got bored and decided to quit. I checked the edgte and was shocked it was almost a factory edge again. How good you say lets just say I made very thin slices on a tomato. Yes buy this give them as gifts it is not a fast sharpner buy a very good one.
