The Perfect Solution
After much dithering over this, I finally decided that it was better to try it (for only £11.59 - great price!) than to be stuck forevermore trying to find different solutions. All of the previous 3 mice I had used either lost their Optical functionality due to continual use over large periods of time, or the cables frayed away so much that it became not just a safety hazard; it actually stopped it working in certain positions. Oh, or they ate batteries so fast I had to spend a tenner a week on them. Am I glad I bought this? Certainly so. Here is why: PROS: +Wireless to 10 metres (tested it!). Excellent, considering the issues wires have caused in the past. +Rechargeable! Solves the issue of constantly having to get replacement batteries. Two rechargeable batteries come with the mouse. You put them in, and recharge the entire mouse by just putting it in the dock. +Has a dock! VERY useful, as it gives somewhere to store it when it is not in use. Particularly good when you have a cluttered desk. +A grand total of 8 HOURS battery life! Excellent for users who use it for large periods of time without many breaks. +An extra two buttons. It may not sound like much, and they take a while to get used to if you map functions that would normally be done using the keyboard or mouse to them, but they can make all the difference. I'm an avid STO gamer, and changing between Weapon and Shield power presets in the middle of a fight saves a crucial few seconds, and allows rapid adaptation to enemy tactics, particularly when it comes to unpredictable... PvP! +Ergonomic design. Does not make the hand ache after long usage, and doesn't make your hand go numb. The combination of matte and gloss plastics give the mouse a certain sophisticated-ness, and works well with my sleek black Advent Verona. CONS: -(This may be an obvious one, but hey). The computer that the Dock is connected to has to be switched on to allow the mouse to charge. Not too big of an issue, but can be pesky on rare occasions. Overall, it is an excellent product. I would recommend it to absolutely anyone looking for a new mouse, regardless of whether it is for gaming of for more conventional uses. 5 stars from me.

Do not despair... but don't expect too much either
Nice mouse, compact charger, doubling as receiver, good range (charger is now under my desk and no longer on top). After receiving and connecting the mouse it became clear that the forward and backward buttons had been reversed and my control panel did not allow me to change this configuration. When unpacking, I had already wondered why there was no software with it. The manufacturer's website is a dead end and Storage Depot are only trading these and, considering they had no expertise, they were as friendly and pro-active as could reasonably be expected and offered me my money back if that was what I wanted. But, in the mean time, there was no support forthcoming from anywhere until I got fed up and started a deep search on the web. After phrasing and re-phrasing the search, one of these self-help sites came up with a solution: X-Mouse Button Control, a freeware application aimed at customising gamer mice [...]. Whatever it was intended for, it sorted my problem. The application doesn't tell you but after applying the changes you do need to reboot for the changes to take effect. Job done and very easy too! UPDATE 1: I've now been using it for over a year and, I must say, it performs well. I've had no issues other than having to wriggle it about a bit in the charging station. I'm probably using it about 2 hours per day and get nearly two weeks usage out of one charge. Not bad at all. Five stars for the product, 1 star deduction for no software provided. UPDATE 2: We're now 18 months later and the product has died on me. The batteries don't charge anymore and, when using regular batteries, the mouse has become very sluggish. After asking the supplier for suggestions, they seem to be shrugging their shoulders and tell me they are happy to sell me a new one as it is out of warranty. I have told them I'll by something else elsewhere... This has reduced the rating somewhat.

Surprisingly good product
I was a bit put off by some of the other reviews saying this product had a cheap feel, but figured that at this price it was a good deal anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the mouse itself is fairly heavy and has a pretty solid build, the main buttons are responsive although the side buttons don't feel quite as well designed but are still perfectly acceptable. All in all this is a bargain, the other reviews are correct in saying that the 'forward' and 'backward' side buttons feel reversed but this might just be a matter of perspective. All the more modern games that support multi-button mice that I have so far tried work with this and recognise the side buttons straight away, no need for third-party software. Thoroughly recommended either way, a good product and a great entry-level cheap gaming mouse. EDIT: Been using this for 3 1/2 years now, not a day of trouble with it. Battery life is excellent even with constant use - it will last several days of intense (10-12 hours) gaming without needing to be popped back on the charger. Normally charges in 3-4 hours too. Great bit of kit. EDIT September 2018: the sensor on the left mouse button has finally started to wear down, and now sometimes double-clicks instead of single-clicks when pressed, not bad for 5 1/2 years of heavy gaming use!! I'm still using the original batteries too :-)

Acquistato qualche mese fa, funziona benissimo.
