Quality Control Issues
Please note that my rating and following review is based on me potentially having received a faulty unit.I purchased my Aero 15W whilst it was on offer on Amazon for ÂŁ1480 - significantly cheaper than it often sells for on here or anywhere. After taking the Aero out of its sleek box and powering it on, you are greeted with the semi-automated, Cortana infused, Windows 10 setup process. This takes no time at all to complete, due to the nippy NVMe SSD (I had the slower Toshiba SSD installed in my unit).Unfortunately, I purchased my Aero at the time when various large Windows 10 updates were rolling out. I spent the next day and a half updating Windows 10 over and over. This is where my issues began...Gigabyte Smart Update would fail to launch - uninstalling or trying various versions of the software failed to get it workingThe ELAN Touchpad would randomly stop working - this forced me to restart the machine by way of keyboard shortcutsThe laptop would randomly switch itself offThe laptop would randomly restart itself with no explanationThe laptop would often refuse to wake from sleep, forcing me to hard reset the machineOther issues with my Aero:Very flimsy hinge after 110 degrees - it would flop open to the maximum angle of about 140 degrees after this pointDiscolouration in the keyboard backlighting at the far left and far right edges of the keyboardEnormous backlight bleed in the bottom left quadrantPro points I found with the Aero:Up to 9 hours battery life, even while web browsing or watching videosNear impeccable build quality (aside from the hinge issue explained above)One of the finest IPS screens I have ever used - deep, inky blacks and a very well calibrated panel - the colours truly 'pop'Excellent cooling system with options to tailor it to your needs and tastes - gaming on your lap is even an optionTyping on the keyboard is generally a very pleasurable experienceRGB keyboard backlighting is beautiful with plenty of customizationNegative aspects of the Aero:The down-firing speakers with lowish maximum volume and very limited bass - why place speakers here? It's a shame as the sound quality is very decentSilly placement of the arrow keys on the keyboard - I could not get used to this, no matter how hard I triedThe ELAN Touchpad - more a driver issue than the touchpad itself which has a good quality surface - installing hacked Windows Precision drivers is recommended (I did not have enough time with my Aero to even bother doing this)Automatic display backlight control - more an issue with the poor Gigabyte software - I had to turn this option off as the software would continuously notify me when the backlight had been adjusted (very, very annoying!)The laptop will enter sleep/hibernation when you close the lid to about 60 degreesDue to all of these issues, the laptop had to go back.

Almost Perfect
An extremely capable machine let down by a few minor issues. I think the item is fantastic and it fits the bill if you need a capable, versatile laptop in a slim and (relatively) light package. Performance is great as expected, runs quiet and cool (except when gaming) and the bezel-less display is beautiful there are only a few things that stop it being perfect which are:- Keyboard: it's stiff and awkward to use at times, this could be a dealbreaker for some- Finish: the matte black finish on the device is still very much prone to fingerprints- Hinge: The hinge is rather loose when opened fully, not sure why- Bloatware: A lot of unnecessary programs/utilities come pre-installed on the machine.- Price: It is on the expensive sideOther than that I'm very pleased with the laptop!

it causes a slight hitch that lasts for about half a second whenever doing something like opening a window
Not cheap but you get a solid stylish laptop. One minor issue which I cannot seem to resolve - when the laptop switches between using the integrated graphics and the GTX1060 via the Intel Optimus tech, it causes a slight hitch that lasts for about half a second whenever doing something like opening a window, right clicking, or anything that invokes the UAC. The only way to stop this from happening is to disable the GTX1060 when just working on the desktop (i.e. not playing games). Its a small thing but rather annoying and none of the various fixes I have seen suggested online have fixed it. Other than that though its a great laptop.

Excellent laptop
At first I wasn't sure whether to get the AERO 15 or the XPS 15 (both computers had great specs), but now I'm really happy with my choice. After a TERRIBLE customer service with DELL SPAIN (waited month and a half for a laptop which finally was declared lost), I really nailed it by trusting amazon on this two day shipment product.Great screen in a really small 15 inches laptop. Not only works great with games, but also with CAD programs. The only thing I regret is not chosing Gigabyte first.

Fantastic Gaming Laptop
Fantastic gaming laptop. Thin, lightweight & powerful. I was not expecting the bright orange lid but I am getting used to it. Certainly individual. Just glad I avoided the green one. If you want to store a reasonable amount of music and/or video I recommend the 1TB version but this has enough space for a few games. Please note that the SD card slot is not deep so a card sticks a long way out.

Broke after a yeart
Hardware failed after a year, sent it to get repaired as it's still under warranty but they've done an awful job and I now have to send it to be repaired for the second time in as many months.

If you are a developer don't buy this laptop! Worst keyboard experience that I have had
This laptop is great in all most everything thin, powerful, great screen but... The keyboard it's horrible. I've lost count how many times I had to press the keys Esc, A, R, Shift and Ctrl more than once to actuate. There's a problem with you try to press more than 3 at the same time, gigabyte partially fixed with a software update but still has some issues. So if you like to type on your laptop don't buy it, I'm a web developer and unfortunately I can't recommend this laptop.
