So apparently there are quite a few bad reviews for this item. I bought it anyway, and used it to bleed the brakes on my motorbike. It works very well. There is no one-way valve - the little insert at one end of the tube is just a weight to keep it at the bottom of the bottle. The brake fluid actually goes out through a small slot towards that end of the tube. Looks weird, but does the trick. I was also able to clean it fairly well. Only negative really is that the bottle isn't see-through: it's hard to tell when should one stop pumping fluid through.

Great for the job!
I've bought this to replace my old one that lasted 30 years! Always use this to bleed the brakes on my two Austin Healeys. The valve on the old one finally failed so hoping this one will last as long as the old one. Bought two as giving one to a friend who also has a classic car but who had trouble recently bleeding his brake system as he doesn't have one of these.

Tubing quite short, lid became brittle and broke.
I used this bleeding bottle occasionally over the space of a few years. The lid eventually broke rendering it useless. Looking at the price of a replacement, I think it's way over-priced (just under £17) for what is - a little plastic bottle with a bit of rubber tubing stuck in the top. Yes, it has a check valve, but I wouldn't say that was a critical feature.I used it in conjunction with a Gunson pressurized bleeding kit. It worked fine, although I often found the pipe overstretched (and therefore easy to knock) as it's quite short. Also, you can't just look at the bottle to gauge how full it is, unlike most 'free' containers you get when you purchase motor oil.If you can get one of these for under a tenner, then it's probably worth buying one for the convenience. But I'm just going to buy some tubing and recycle an empty motor oil bottle.

Better than expected
I almost paid three times as much for something else but this just worked! I was doing motorcycle rear brakes, so only a short hose, but from dry to fully bled in about ten minutes, including setup time.

Low tech but functional.
The "one way valve" in the description is actually a slit cut into the silicone tubing - don't expect to see any type of 'device'!Having said that I have used it successfully to help change the brake fluid on my motorcycle and it does appear to work without leaking around the bleed nipple, which is often a flaw with more rigid tubing. Probably works as well as some of the other kits costing 2 or 3 times as much.

Best value kit
Handes down an absolute must for bleeding brakes. I previously tried a cheap vacuum kit, but this is simpler and works better.

Don't buy it, just buy a length of silicone hose and save yourself 98% of the cost.
Lots of misinformation by other reviewers here. The split in the tube IS the one-way valve, its been cut on purpose, its not a defect, and it works. What you're basically paying for here is a good quality silicone tube with the right dimensions to seal around a standard bleeding nipple, which is hard to find. Although its still a rip off as they can be found on eBay for 1 pound or less. That's all you need, the silicone tube and an empty plastic bottle to catch the brake fluid. Just link the end and cable tie it to cap it off and cut the slit, but its not even necessary, you don't need the 1 way valve if you fill up the bottle about an inch with fresh brake fluid and use a regular tube, no cap or cut. If the end is submerged in the fluid then any air that comes out rises to the top, but if there's any suction it only sucks up brake fluid. There you have it, a 1 man bleeder, there's lots of YouTube videos showing how to make these. It consists of a length of silicone hose, with a metal cap on one end, and a split crudely cut into it on the same end a few centimetres from the cap.The bottle itself is a joke its just an empty bottle with a hole in the lid except the hole is drilled by hand so it's off-centre and looks like it was made using a screwdriver because its a right mess. This whole product is a scam, its priced ridiculously high for what is basically a couple of pennies worth of hose, and an empty bottle which can be replaced by basically anything you want to cotnain the brake fluid.

Fine but the hose does tend to split and snap ...
Fine but the hose does tend to split and snap off around the bleed nipple. It can be a real pain when you’re half way through a job and you have to deal with that.
