My introduction to the start of menopause was full blown insomnia, night sweats and day hot and cold flashes. In fact I spent so much of my time soaked in sweat that then caused a chill that I came down with two colds in the space of 4 weeks. Things were looking pretty hellish between the embarrassment of being literally dripping with sweat for what seemed to be the entire day and night, to the point where I'd just stopped any social activity at all.
