I colour my hair blonde but I find that after I do my colour the next wash with Plantur 39 makes the colour a bit lighter. I started trying a slightly darker blonde colour but it still happens. I personally feel that what I get out of using Plantur far out weighs the colour lightening. I have never found that it changes it dramatically but just a bit lighter. Hopes this helps.

Do you have to use this every day? I only wash my hair twice a week

They say to use it daily to start but I wash my hair 2 or 3 times weekly and I have found a real difference in my hair since I started using it. I went over to a different one for a short time but soon went back to Plantur 39. I intend to keep using now. I also use the conditioner and the daily tonic. If you get the 3 together from Amazon it is cheaper.

Is it safe to highlight hair when youve used the hair tonic on the same day? Or is it advised to clean the scalp of all plantur 39 products first?

I have permanent coloured hair and use it. I do not know if it can be used on the same day as highlights.

Is this suitable for men

I don't actually know but cannot see why not. However, there is a caffeine shampoo specifically for men . It is called Alpecin shampoo for Men.
