Really slim connectors, which is good because it fits more easily in tight places. Very good for the price, lost a star because i felt that the cable was a little too inflexible for my usecase in a small chassis. This made it quite difficult to plug into two adjacent drives.

Reviewing a cable (Amazon asks for a review) - what should I say? It is a cable. Splits a standard SATA power connector into two. Works perfectly the way it should - what else do you expect from a cable? Connectors fit well as far as I can tell. I have two of them in a Dell T20, this review is the result of me ordering a second one (to make wiring easier than with just one). The only advice I would give to people used to metric - do the conversion, 6" sounds like a long cable until you realise it is 15,2cm - i.e. not very long (but hey, as described and perfectly adequate for my use).

I was adding a third SSD and I had a choice - remove my modular power supply to add another power lead (my custom build was delivered with all the spare corsair leads, and the vacant socket was not accessible) or extend the existing cable. As these were SSDs using leads rated for HDDs I wasn't concerned about overloading the cable. This was an easy solution. Works fine. No issues.

STARTECH.COM StarTech 4x SATA Power Splitter Adapter Cable The installation was easy and use it to now power 3 of my storage devices leaving one for future upgrades and adhoc use for backup devices from time to time. Everything works fine, there’s not a massive drain from the PSU using SSD’s and even when a third 2GB 7200 HDD is connected, with intensive use (a full backup) my machine works fine. I can’t comment if there are any potential downfalls using one SATA power source to power 4 more demanding devices, but for 2 x SSD & 1 x HDD powered by a 400watt PSU, it’s been no problem at all. I might suggest checking the documentation of your PSU. As stated in the description “Add three extra sata power outlets to your power supply - Power up to 4 SATA drives from a single Serial ATA power supply connection” The spacing is adequate for an array for drives, which in most circumstances is the case but for anything more than two slots you may have to skip a power connection rendering it useless, the actual dimensions of the cable are slightly different to than from in the spec, it’s 40cm in total with a spread of 10cm for the power connections. The power connections are a snug fit, there’s been no issue of them coming loose, and I’m frequently switching a slave drive. It might be worth mentioning that the cables are quite stiff and are individual, so a few small cable ties might be a good option to tidy things up. Aesthetically, it’s not at showcase standard! Though I’m not too bothered about the presentation in my PC’s internals as long as it’s safe and doesn’t impact the operation of any other components. For under £4 delivered, it's great value and a reliable product. Storage devices powered. Funcionamiento correcto

Gekauft habe ich mir den Y-Adapter um eine weitere SSD zu bestromen. Stecker angesteckt und die SSD eingebaut. Der Stecker ließ sich problemlos einbinden und hat auch nirgends geklemmt o.ä. Der Adapter schaut ordentlich verarbeitet aus und weißt auch keinerlei scharfe Kanten auf. Alles in allem ein Adapter den man sich auch mal in die Reserve Kiste legen kann. Pros + Super verarbeitet + Preis/Leistung ist für mich ok + Funktion passt Contras - keine Fazit So einen Adapter kann man immer mal gebrauchen, wenn man ab und an an PCs rumbastelt. Von mir gibt es keine Punkte die gegen den Adapter sprechen. Kaufempfehlung.

Simple splitter for SATA power. I ended up using this not as a splitter to add more devices, but as a splitter to extend the range of the cable from where the power was along it. I had a tight fit and could only put things in certain places. This gave me a little more length and flexability to put devices where I wanted them exactly. + Simple and works perfectly + fits firmly, doesn't feel loose. + Adds about 4" from the split point for both segments. - aesthetics are ugly and visible if you're worried about matching the inside of the color of your case - if she wants 8" you'll have to tell her to use both ends.
