incredible!!!!!
I bought the video with the book callanetics am/pm. so that I can use the video to learn the exercises and do the am/pm program (that video was too expensive ) . It is an amazing work out.!! I personally find her voice very soothing which I really appreciate as opposed to videos where you feel you have to sprint to perform and the pace leaves you stressed. no guys thanks but no. I have too much stress in my life already. I am fit, not terribly fit but not unfit either. and my job involves a lot of movement. by the end of 30 min I felt that my body used muscles it had never used before! I would suggest for people to take it easy at first increasing the reps slowly if needed. If there is a tension on your neck when doing stomach exercises you might have to be careful with your posture and in no time when abs will be strong any tension on the neck will disappear. I am incredibly happy with this exercise. cant praise it enough. also my feedback on the modern callanetis videos are that do not look so detailed in terms of posture as the original, and the pace is not calming for me. I prefer the original which has a calming quality. you definitely need that as the exercises are at the same time gentle and intense. Its the second day today and I feel aches in muscles that I haven't felt before. also I feel more at ease when walking and feel taller because of the stretching. a friend of mine has done it in the past and swears by it. I feel gratitude to Callan!! I would recommend it to a 16 year old who would like to be fit, and ground herself to a feeling of calmness, and to my 75 year old mother who has no clue about fitness. ah and also in terms of equipment you need a mat for you back and a chair. thats it. and if you find funny the ladies in leotard lycra, Well life is hard, you know? so I don't want to beat myself in the gym, thanks but not for me, I want to drink my morning coffee and exercise watching an 80 year old rocking her bikini body in a pink lycra. That is my taste in life. and wait till the future sociologists discover you tube videos about instructing you about how to offer yourself the glory of moustache-eye-brow

Great exercise programme - bit dated
My mum had this on video in the 1980's and I looked online to find it because I remembered how much I enjoyed doing it as a kid. It is excellent, you make progress really quickly - at first the exercises are really hard but you see results quickly and you know your muscles are working hard! There are lots of ways (demonstrated on the dvd) the exercises can be adjusted slightly for older people or people with bad backs, so this really is a good dvd for anyone looking to tone and strengthen their muscles without adding bulk.

Old but fab
Rebought after losing my last copy, been doing callanetics for years on and off, yes it's old but still brilliant to do and better to have the original than the newer ones. Easy to follow hard to keep up, but you'll go from unable to very able in weeks. Never regret starting and it gives you tone in no time, feeling lighter and stronger. More supple and less fatigue

AWESOME!
Had this on video in the 80's, managed to find it on DVD. Tried many different training techniques and methods but this is by far still the best. Was sad to hear Callen Pickney passed away, she was in her 70's. If you do the exercise program, which is an hour 2 - 3 times a week you will definitely see a difference in the 10 hours it states. Takes some selfies of your body before and after (the camera never lies). It's like it grabs the muscle to the bone. Listen if your massively overweight your not going to see the changes you want, you need to diet as well, if you want to tone that flabby body this is the DVD for you. Would 100% recommend.

Fantastic workout
OK this was harder than I thought it would be, but I could feel every muscle working, even that elusive inner thigh one which refused to tone up. This isn't a high impacy, sweaty workout, but it DOES work you out alright! Lots of slow but taxing small movements which after just one session I can see a tiny improvement. My only complaint is that it's an hour long. I would much rather have a half hour session so I can squeeze it in wherever, so will look for one as it's time consuming when you have jobs and kids etc. It also shows variations for those with bad backs etc, and the women in the DVD range from 20's to 80's which is very refreshing: real women doing the workouts rather than perfect models.

Awful - don’t waste your time and money on it.
I have a great many fitness DVDs this is one of the worst. Fitness knowledge has come on a lot since this was recorded. Be aware that this video is not about you it’s all about her. There is not much instruction just demonstrating. But the worse thing is that you need a ballet barre to do the exercises which are advanced and look risky. Many of the abs exercises are just a variation on Pilates 100. Better and safer to get a good Pilates DVD. It’s a throwback. There’s a reason it’s not popular now and it cost me to find out.

No está en español gran parte del dvd
Compré este dvd porque tengo el video desde hace años y hay algunas partes que para estirar la espalda me van bien, aunque el resto del programa a mí personalmente no me gusta, está anticuado y algunos ejercicios me parecen potencialmente lesivos. Pero lo que más me interesaba es la parte bonus, que es "The secrets of Callanetics" e "History of Callanetics" y esta parte no tiene la opción de español. En el dvd pone que hay varias opciones de idioma, entre ellas el español, pero solo la parte de ejercicios tiene esta opción en realidad. El resto del dvd no.

Visible results in a short time so very motivating.
I have been doing about three sessions a week for three months and the results are incredible; I don't recognise my legs. Callan Pinckney very calmly demonstrates the correct positions and gentle motions with advice for those with a weak back or knees. You are always active but relaxed, alternating exercises and stretches. It's also fun to slip back to the 80's for an hour.
