VonShef Deluxe 12 Hole Electric Doughnut Maker Donut Snack Machine, 1400W, Red

This was bought as an anniversary present for my husband who loves to cook and bake. The doughnut maker does come in a box which clearly states what it is, so the surprise element was lost, but he was happy with my purchase. It is very easy to use and the resulting batches of doughnuts were gorgeous. I ate 5 or 6 before remembering I needed to syn them up. My husband is going to try to make mini bagels as well so hoping they will turn out well.

It does do what it says on the product description. However.... And this is a big however.... The donut maker is small. The donuts are minuscule and this should come with a recipe book... If I knew the donuts were just a bite full I wouldn't have purchased this .....disappointing.

This Donut maker as been worth the money I paid for it and the quality of it is good. It makes good Donuts in a very little time. WOULD RECOMMEND

Takes some practice but once you get the right amount of mixture you can make nice little doughnuts, as many have said you get no cookbook on how to make them but plenty on here and out there that can teach you. There is no temp control so once you start pouring the mixture in you have to be quick otherwise one or two may burn.

Everybody that says there is no recipe included is completely wrong. There is a basic doughnut recipe and a few glaze recipes. They are towards the back of the instruction manual.However, like other reviewers, I have ended up with half cooked doughnuts despite following the instructions.Another reviewer has said to put the doughnuts in when the maker is cold. That's fine if you're only making 12 but the included recipe makes 36 doughnuts so that's twice you have to wait for it to cool down again. It was still pretty warm an hour after using it. So much for time saving!Also, the recipe says to work quickly once the baking powder is added. Not going to happen if you're having to wait between batches.I'm returning and just going to buy doughnut pans for the oven instead.

Looks fantastic.Only used once and easy to use but doughnuts tasted terrible - not sure I can blame the machine for this but not what we expected.

Using the basic mix, it tastes like pancakes! Super nummy! I would however recommend putting the doughnut mix in before switching on and just allowing them to cook a couple mins longer. The mix is so doughy it can take a while to add it to the maker so half of them are already half cooked by the time you close it. So you either have half overdone or half underdone.

No recipe provided. Unit is much smaller than anticipated and so therefore the donuts are tiny. Not very impressed. You can imagine how big the donuts are as this small machine does 'em in batches of 12.
